Question of the Day: Common & Pharrell or Common & Kanye

Different doesn’t always mean good, or does it?????
So I was having an interesting conversation with one of my superiors the other day about Common’s new album, Universal Mind Control, which hit stores today. Basically, my musical amigo hasn’t warmed up to the idea of Common partnering with the likes of Skateboard P. He even went onto say he felt uncomfortable listening to Common rap on “Sex 4 Suga”.
I was puzzled for a bit and inquired, “Are you not feeling Common’s new sound”? He replied, “It’s not that, I’m just not used to hearing Common in that type of light”. He continued, “Yo, to be honest, I think it’s Serena Williams…lol”. While I doubt that’s the reason for the alteration in his sound, a light bulb did turn on in my head.
Personally, I’m digging the new futuristic tunage provided by Com and Skateboard P, but my homey was right, somethings a little off about this new project. Am I tripping or are you guys getting that same feeling as well? Anyway, Com’s new sound is by far completely different from what we heard on Finding Forever and Be, so I would like to know, from you guys, Do you prefer Common and Pharrell or Common and Kanye????
It shouldn’t be hard choice……..so, DISCUSS!!!!

Well I perfer Common and Kanye. The album is good but you could kinda tell that it was excetive produce by pharrell. The song he got with kanye west on the album is the hottest song on there. Pharrell is a hot producer. 1 of the hottest producers in the game its just common stlye donesnt fit with eachother. Hot Album tho…..

i agree with Blu’ Diva..i luhv tha song he has with cee-lo….kanye & common is a classic good look…but pharrell & common is a “new” look for tha future and for his musiq..i like both of them
I prefer Common. Kanye and Pharrell can be kept out of the equation as far as I am concerned!!!

i love the new album, most you guys havent really listened to the new album, bc common hasnt lost his flow at all, and its still the same common. the new album is hot, i can listen to it all the way through, than his other albums. i dont think he is going for numbers i think he is just doin something different, how long did you guys think he was going to do the same thing each album. and dont forget he was the one who killed ice cube with the b***h in you. do your homework children
