Real Talk With LL Cool J……

Ya’ll know what time it is!! 24 years deep and this man is STILL going strong like he just signed his first deal. Recently, I sat down with the living legend and talked about a bevy of things. From being offered the Def Jam president position 10 years ago to still wanting to be an artist 10 years from now, LL let it all out! As usual , I left some commentary for this side of town, check it out below!
LL Cool J on his music..
“I wanted to recommit myself to the music; you know what I’m saying? I think you have to take responsibility and recommit sometimes. I mean my heart was in it, but I needed to add that focus and I think by adding that focus, the company as a whole sensed my commitment and made them recommit to my project and the idea of supporting LL. It’s an incredible thing.”
LL Cool J on battling right now…..
“I wouldn’t choose anybody. I’ve never been a guy that likes to start that kind of stuff because that’s exactly how you get your hat handed to you; all of that talking tough gets you nowhere. I’ve always been somebody who wants to focus on what he does well and if someone thinks that me dropping “Baby” is a signal to pounce on LL, well, that’s a decision they have to wrestle with. I’m not a trouble maker man, I rather make my music and keep my mouth shut, know what I mean?”

L.L. is a real M.C., he’s been holding it down from oldschool to new. From his hits “I Need Love”, “Mama said Knock You Out”, to “Hey Lover”, “Doin’ It” (my favorite), and HeadSprung (another favorite), up to the music today “Baby” one song off of this new Exit 13 Album, he’s delivered in a major way. L.L., with his own clothing line and other greatness is a real icon. I believe that God has blessed L.L. is so many unimaginable ways. Hats off to Mr. Hey Lover/ Mr Ladies Love Cool James. May God continue to bless you.
One more comment, I see alot of negative comments and yeah they’re just opinions, but Hats off to oldskool artist like KRS1, A Tribe Called Quest, and Rappers Delight. People listen to music and some like what they hear, but they don’t ask where did the music that the musicians I listen to originate… Yeah, it’s all beats and lyrics, but it has a foundation.

i love LL. I saw his first live concert in st. louis way back when. and he’s still doing his thing. i can’t think of anybody with his longevity. i plan to catch with janet as well!

LL is a legend, intelligent, talented, and of course hoooooooooooot. I have seen his concerts in Toronto Canada. Love the way he lick his lips and everything else about that I miss. Sexy

LL is definitely the GOAT!! JayZ, NAS, 50 none of them can compare to LL. If they were all sitting at a table LL would be the KING!! He appeals to all age groups. when they can say they have been relevant in the business as long as he has then they can hold his hat and he is still georgous WOW!!
