Remy Ma Denied Marriage To Papoose, Sentenced 8 Years!

I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. Either that or Remy’s beau, Papoose, was attempting one of the most absurd jail breaks of all time. According to the NY Post, the sacred, but brief ceremony between Remy Ma and Papoose that was scheduled for Monday (May 12) was cut short when authorities confiscated in what they thought was a universal handcuff key from Papoose. Not only were the two denied marital bliss, but Papoose was also banned from Riker’s Island indefinitely.
Papoose, who denied any type of motive of planning to break out his wife to be, barked at reporters “I don’t walk to talk, get out of my face. You all write racist articles”. Remy Ma, who will now have to wait until she’s moved into maximum security at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County to wed her lyrical finance, will be entitled to conjugal visits once the two tie the knot.
While I’m sure Remy pleaded her guts out before her fate was decided, the Post pointed out an interesting fact in which I also stated when Ms. Smith began jibber jabbering on KaySlay’s radio show last week. Any plea she makes before the judge will probably be disregarded since she had a GREAT sense of humor during her incarceration.
Unfortunately, it gets worse. Remy Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Smith, has been sentenced to 8 years behind bars for shooting an acquaintance outside of a Manhattan nightclub July 15, 2007. Remy Ma was found guilty on assault charges in the month of March and originally was facing a 25 year sentence before today’s 8 year ruling.
Sources asserted the rapper could be seen in tears after the verdict was revealed in Manhattan’s Supreme Court this morning. Remy’s defense team plans to appeal the ruling in the near future.
Sad, sad, SAAAAAAAAAAD day for Remy Ma. Go head ladies and gentlemen, SPEAK ON IT!

So sad. i know it wasnt the money but probably the principle of the situation.And in an instance a life was taken and a part of your life as been taken as well. Material things we cherish so much that we will lay down our lives and the lives of others. Plz stop being so materialistic black folks we are losing our souls. God warned us about this.

Was we there? was we in the court house when the evidence was being heard? was you there to scrutinize the evidence of the victim? was you there to hear the points of law? Just because you read it in the press dont make it true, just because you see it on TV dont make it factual. Stop judging because only the all knowing and all seeing can judge and we sure aint that. Sometimes even the jury get it wrong, we would not have innocent people and appeal procedures in place if that was the case…the victim is always seen as the innocent who did not deserve what they got…we all know black folk hate talking to the po po so how we really know what really happend??
Yea, I have to admit…8years is a long time.But I mean if you commit the crime, then you must do the time. I think what saddens me more is the fact that I was and still am a fan of REMY’s. I guess I just wont be hearing any of her music for quite some time.What I dont understand is that we have people out here killing folk left and right, and they get a less serious sentence than she did, just for shooting a person. INJURING not KILLING. This is crazy. You have cops killing innocent people in NYC, and so many other issues around in America, but she gets a sentence of 8years. THATS CRAZY. Now Im not saying dont give her a punishment,but my GOODNESS!!!I’m praying for you REM!!!
i am so tired of people saying its the white man or if he/she wasnt black this or that wouldnt have happened. Yes, we sometimes get done wrong but think about it what are we doing to ourselves? She put herself in this mess and she needs to do her time. Now none of us have the right to judge or to take another persons life. So i not sure why she thought she had the right to try. What she should have done was said okay if you did this to me i aint dealing with you nomore and thought about her family, friends, fans, kids and most of all herself and what would happen to her and how would her loved ones feel about what she now has to do. I will pray for her and i hope she learns from this. and when she gets out she gets on the right path God Bless you all.

All I can say is. She got what she deserved. It makes no since going around shooting people over nonsense.
I guess she won’t be walking around the medal detectors no time soon. Remy ma seems as if she is a angry person full of violence. I heard she tried begged the judge for mercy for son. She shouldve thought about that before she done what she didn’t and I’m sure her son heard them laugh and talking about it after it happen. That’s the price you pay when you want to be a gangsta girl.

Remy Ma, what were u thinking MaMi? You have a son to raise. When we become mothers, it’s not all about u anymore. U have 2 think about your children first and not act off of impulse. I’ll keep both families in my prayers. 2 all of u worrying about Sean Bell’s killers getting off, just remember Jehovah God is the final judge. The wrath of him is way more powerful than anything this government could have granted.He WILL put an end 2 this old system of things.

I don’t know why people are confused as to why Remy got so much time. People get more for less. I also don’t understand why some of you wrote comments upset about Remy getting time. In case you didn’t notice, SHE SHOT SOMEONE! Whether the person shot was her friend or not, she did the crime. Would you think the same if her friend would have died? She is blessed for not getting charged for attempted murder. Thank God her friend didn’t die, but as the old saying states…DO THE CRIME DO THE TIME.
God help us all. What has the black community become, when we can justify the shooting of another human and get mad if they are punished for it. Keep it simple people, we do not live in a land of choas and disorder. We all make mistakes “yes”, but know this we will all pay at some point in our life. To those who abuse others, know this no deed goes unnoticed.
