R.I.P. Isaac Hayes 1942-2008!
According to Sheriff officials in Memphis Tennesee, R&B Soul legend, Isaac Hayes has passed away at the age of 65. Hayes, who’s best known for his work on the epic movie soundtrack, Shaft, was found unconscious next to a still running treadmill in his Memphis, Tennessee home.
Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department, said in a statement that there was no indication of foul play when Hayes was discovered. After the singer was transported to a local hospital, attempts to revive Hayes failed and the singer was pronounced dead around 2pm.

Isaac Hayes was one of those “Before His Time” kind of artist. I will forever remember his music. His kids should be very proud of their Father’s accomplishments. I wrote a many love letters from Isaac’s music. The man was GOOD!!! Every one of his songs was a hit!! The kind you remember where you were at the time and what you were doing!! In other words he was a bad mother————!!
The white media talks about “Shaft” as if this defines his career!!! As usuallly, they are wrong. There was much more to Isaac than this! And he gave you your money worth at his concert!!
I do hope that Isaac Hayes kew the impact he had on our generation! He was so gifted!! Musician, Composer, Singer, Artist, Actor, Writer, etc., etc.
I can only guess the number of “Black Moses” posters that were posted on the walls in homes/dorms across America! (smile)
Ike told a story, took his time and brought it on home!! A true “HALL OF FAMER!” He should be honored! And he carried himself well!
I grew with my father listening to Issacs Hayes, and who could forget SHAFT as a child. God Bless.

I had the occasion to meet and spend time with Isaac back when we were both young folk trying to blast a hole in an unsure world. He had the most soulful voice and a spirit that said LIFE IS GOOD AND SOULFUL! I have his music in my home to this day where my children, my grandchildren,and especially my greatgrand who tries to implement his voice (she’s a girl with spunk at the ripe age of 3)
My condolences are with the Hayes family and remember that God does not make mistakes, he needed a DEEEEEPPPPP VOICE IN HIS HEAVENLY CHOIR.
