Soulja Boy Vs. Ice T?!?!
June 20th, 2008
So I was browsing the internets earlier this morning and I stumbled across a lil tit for tat grudge match between Soulja Boy and Ice-T (yea, I was shocked just like you). Now it’s come to my attention that the internet is a great forum to respond to allegations, hateful responses or just another lane to make absurd comments.
With that said, Ice-T has taken it upon himself to denounce the success of Mr. Soulja Boy himself in a brief but yet aggressive interlude on the release of an upcoming mixtape. Ice, who is an obvious Legend in this thing we call HIP HOP goes on to tell Soulja Boy to “Eat a….”! Yea, kind of harsh isn’t it. He then informs the youngster that he single handedly the art of hip hop due to his “Superman” antics. The part that made me chuckle was when Ice said, and I quote, “Man you ni**az is looking happy and sh*t” What in the hell??? Why in the world is Ice-T taking his frustrations out on Soulja Boy’s happiness? Like honestly, is it really that deep?
Like I said before, the internet is a great lane to deliver a response, because Soulja Boy went ahead and recorded his rebutal to the Westcoast legend. Though Soulja kept calling him “Old” and even asserted Ice-T was around before the first Walmart was conceived (that was funny as hell lol), he does have a point in his mini rant. If Ice-T is that upset about the quality in today’s hip hip culture, why not hop of the hater horse and alter what needs to be altered. Anyway, check out what Soulja had to say in his 7 minute response….
Alright ladies and gents let’s go to work!!
You know what, I can’t even present the notion of choosing sides on this issue, Ice T was wrong! SPEAK ON IT LADIES AND GENTS!
Sincerely

i mean if its wack, then thats ure personal opinion. Soulja Boy makin MAD cake and when u makin more money that otha HATERS r (not sayin he makin more $$$ than Ice-T, hell naw) then thats wat they gone do. Wat the vet’s and legends in hip-hop have to just realize is that 2008 hip-hop is not 1988 hip hop. Thats a 20 yr evolutionary period. And artist today (at least the one makin $$$)make music to sell record’s (who beside THAT BOY WAYNE!!!!!!!!) aren’t really sellin any in the DIGITAL AGE that we live in today. The most known mythical figure known to man was hated on HARD (Jesus Christ) so watever u do, wherever u go, there’s going to be HAAATTTTEEEERRRRRRSSSSSS (ICE-T)
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT EVERYONE THINKS HIP HOP IS SUPPOSE TO BE…ITS FOR ENTERTAINMENT…WHAT WE LIKE IS WHAT THEY GIVE US SO ICE-T NEED TO GROW UP AND TRY TO PICK ON SOMEBODY HIS OWN AGE….GROW-UP!!!!
i like soulja boy better so ice t go sit down
o.k. ice was wrong, BUT he has a point…not jut about soulja boy, hip hop in general. when it is all said & done, people have to embrace change, whether they like it or not. is soulja boy an ice cube or pac…a resounding NO. but people bought that crap so….soulja wins.
OK, Ice-T was wrong, but lets think about it, any ol’schooler that help invent any style of anything is gonna always have something to say about the new schooler’s style. I’m no fan of Soulja Boy and his music is terrible for hip hop, but like everyone states, its a different generation and nobody cares about the old way of doing things. We need more Lupe’s, Kanye’s, and Common’s in the rap game. hip hop artist are starting to put lyrics last when the lyrics are supposed to be first. Shout out to Weezy and The Game for keeping the music street but keeping the lyrical content.
Its a buntch of bull they realy shouldnt make such a big deal bout it cause its his personal opinyon and who cares what other people think maby it was alittlel bit of hateration going on in this case we dont know
Bottom line is Ice -T has Classic in Hip Hop and souja Boy will never have that. See thats the difference with Old School Hip Hop is that they made classics not one hitter quitters. I think the new hip hop gen would sell more if they tried to make something with a little more heart in it and keep it real if your not a gangster then dont talk like you are if your recalling hood stories then just keep it real. There’s a litte old school saying called studio gangsters. thats whos making hip hop go down. Not souja boy himself ..I dont listen to him but i actually feel he was a bright spot for a genre that really has no depth.
SB will never be a legend like ICE!
there no lengendin the the hood but there is many sell out just keep it real and stay positive chi-city
