One word describes the BET awards show this year, DISGUSTING! It should have been called the Jamie Foxx awards show. I hardly ever watch the awards show the first time around and this year especially proved to me why I don’t! I will never look at BET the same again. I agree that they should have went ahead as planned and did a ten minute or so tribute at the end of the show and then do a REAL tribute later this summer with REAL artists who loved Michael like the rest of us. They did not honor Michael at all needless to say.

I might be wrong for saying this but why in the world would they let the legendary Don go on stage and make a fool of himself! Everyone else had a partner. And why would they have those young little girls on stage during a song that’s talking about humping every girl in the world! Do we even have to wonder why 12 year olds become mothers? I thougt the Baby Boy skit was totally inappropriate, there are thousands of baby boys sitting on their momas couch right now. Almost everything about the show was way out left field. All we can do is bow our heads in shame. Once again we were used and abused by our own people.

I hope someone from BETs executive office reads these comments and takes them to heart.

I believe BET is the reason why the Jackson’s advised Al Sharpton the next day that they had to be careful about holding tributes. I am sure they were more embarrassed by the award show than we were. I was bamboozled into watching

….The BET awards (imo) was a complete joke.

I have never seen such a mockery of a “tribute” in my life.

The worst had to be “We want to celebrate this black man’s.. This black man! He belongs to us. And we shared him with everybody else.”

I cannot begin to describe how horrible this is on so many levels. Clearly MJ and who was was, went right this mans head.

Not only that, the “us” that is spoken of in this quote, quite frankly, most were embarrassed and shunned him long ago. The majority of his fans from start to finish were not of black majority. In fact, if I recall correctly, I think Mr Foxx himself has made fun of him in the past.

The only highlight to that show was Janet Jackson, and I’m sorry she had to see that “tribute”.

I think that the show production was terrible. There were some good performances, but overall the show was a disappointment. The director of the show should be ashamed for allowing what was broadcasted. The Baby Boy sketch began okay, but quickly got out of control and not funny. The Rap collaboration at the end of the show was distastful, and especially for BET….the lyrics of the song says, I wish I can ___ all the girls in the world…..did they forget that we are leading carriers of HIV in the US. And all of this on a supposed 1st tribute to Michael Jackson to hit the tv screens. Wow…. BET.. get with it. I love my people, but overall, this was not a good representation.

Man, Janie needs to get a grip. What a racist. Michael was a great artist that understood through his spirituality that skin, hair and eye color make no diffierence. Michael Jackson was simply GREAT no matter. A hundred years from now they will talk about what we learned from this Great Man in showing us that it’s about LOVE. Jamie still wants to be in a click. Let’s face it Beyonce is a white woman and she transcends into the black culture.
Jamie’s moonwalk was an insult to Michael Jackson. I agree, BET could have done a whole lot better. What a racist and a fake. Michael would not have been impressed with Jamie’s insults. Michael deserves better than this and Jamie should apologize.

This was so offensive on so many levels but the worst was awful Jamie Foxx plugging his Vegas shows. It was so inappropriate and disgusting to the point where had I not known Janet was appearing I would have never tuned in. I realize that BET had only a few days to reorganize the show but it was so tacky, ghetto and disgusting that I can only say it was done on a dime and with the most horrible line up of artists you can imagine paying tribute to one of the best entertainers of our or any time.

Was Jamie Foxx drunk? He was off que several times and was making off color comments that were even a stretch for him. Jamie seemed more interested in promoting is upcoming tour than remembering MJ. SHAME ON YOU JAMIE FOXX. I guess he’ll just “Blame it on the alcohol!”

The BET Awards was horribly Ghetto and was not a tribute but a true disgrace! First of all it was unorganized, the sound was horrible, and the performances sucked! By no means did it captivate the legacy of Michael. If BET was going to do ANYTHING, they should have went on with the regular program, had a ten minute tribute to MJ, and then in a few weeks scheduled a true night to HONOR Michael Jackson, with real celebrities who loved and had a real compassion for MJ. Jamie Fox was NOT funny nor cute. As I was watching I felt like it was all a joke or some type of Roast of Michael. Not a tribute. And What In the HELL was Beyonce doing, singing, and wearing? I wasted my time watching and waiting for the tribute to my man Michael Jackson. I pray for his family and pray that everyone learns the true meaning of the word tribute! Michael I pray that you are in heaven singing to the Lord and showing the angels how to moon walk! =)

Thank you Jamie Foxx for sharing MJ. Since we are separating and loaning artists by race to other races then I guess we should continue the divide. So,
us “white” people now claim Eminem and Justin Timberlake. All other races may listen to and support these artist, but please remember they are only on loan. They belong to “us”.

Thank you Jamie Foxx for entitling all races to claim their own. That is what music and Michael is all about! Right?
