SoundOff TV: Jim Jones & DJ Webstar Talk Jay-Z
June 11th, 2009
DJ Webstar & Jim Jones discuss Jay-Z’s relevance- UH OH! Ok so here’s the skinny. Young H-O released a scathing tune blanketing every advocate of the Auto-Tune entitled, “D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)”, last week (the cut is a street single from his new album, “Blueprint 3″).
Chatter amongst these specific Auto-Tune employers started brewing. “Who’s he referring to?” most asked. Some viewed it as hating, but others took it as a tap on everyone’s creative chin to up the anty on creating diverse material.
Out of frustration, I’m assuming, DJ Webstar (pictured above) took to the pages of Twitter claiming Hovito’s old-ass was hating on the very device that’s allowed his career to grow another set of legs.
Personally, Webstar’s record is solid without the Auto-Tune. “Dancin On Me”, which has an infectious melody, needs no effects from the Auto-Tune to connect with his core demographic seeing how simple the hook is.
A couple days prior, Hov responded to Webstar (the best thing that’s happened to the youngster) stating, “He’s a young guy. So he probably, he doesn’t have a full understanding of what I’m saying. So, you know, or maybe he’ll understand one day, but right now, he’s a young guy. He doesn’t know no better.”
Well, DJ Webstar and Jim Jones slid over to 106 & Park yesterday and OF COURSE I had to address the elephant in the room. While Webstar gave off a reserved demeanor, but still held his ground with his response, Jimmy..well Jimmy did what Jimmy does! Check out the clip, below!
Oh and make sure you check back with BET.com tomorrow for the full feature on DJ Webstar & Jim Jones. ENJOY!
Sincerely

For starters, the only way that Jim Jones will ever be hot again is if DIPSET reunite. Having said that WEBstar, I don’t think is even worth mentioning……..right now anyway. I do not like Jay-z that much either but he has been in the game long enough to not be disrespected by a kat that is just now getting his feet wet. MANN what is Hip Hop coming to. It’s like a bad dream.
