Not starting anything, but it’s very obvious that alot of you don’t know the difference between auto tune and a vocoder… What T Pain and Ron Browz are using is auto tune, which is a pitch correction program. Roger was using a vocoder, which is pretty much voice manipulation of an instrumental sound…

1. T-Pain respects/gives props to Roger Troutman
2. Ron Browz is garbabge man….im sorry
3. T-Pain with no autotune: Thr33 Ringz “Keep Going” , and other song/s I can’t think of
4. T-Pain is not a powerful, amazing singer, but he knows HOW to sing, (which is why he can get AutoTune to sound good and also he knows how to use the AutoTune (not technically correctly…but the rightly wrong way)……….and AutoTune actually works MORE when you sing offkey/bad…..its a pitch correction tool, but T-Pain and such max out setting to create that desired effect. I bet Antares really doesn’t like T-Pain, but he is making them soo much money, its just a no-duh move to team up with him.

Any real cat with an ear for melody & has musical training will confirm this- Ron Browz sucks hard on the autotune… he can’t sing, & he can’t even program it in the right key! Just cause you know how to sample records & use an MPC doesn’t make you a ‘musician’… at least Pain can carry a tune live without the help, play piano, AND produce real music…

So far as i’ve heard of most of Browz tracks, the singing key & song key don’t even come close to matching- hell, Pop Champagne HAS to be the worst of em too… don’t let me catch dude in the street I’ll slap him with a music theory book!

Ron Brrowz doesn’t know how to use auto-tune only if the track sucked. The track was bangin’ though. Just because someone uses a tool differently doesn’t mean it’s the wrong way it’s just different. Ron Browz uses it differently than Tpain and he made a hit. Congratulations on being innovative!

All this auto-tune is getting old. Its a fad and I’ll be glad when they stop producing these songs. The effect that Roger Troutman w/Zapp used is not even close to what auto-tune is. He used an actual keyboard or synth with a talk-box which ran a tube to his mouth so he could manipulate the sound. A few rock bands also used this effect in the late 70’s and 80’s manipulating the sounds of their guitars so that the guitar sounded like voices. This songs lyrical track is way off beat and sounds terrible. Ah well RIP auto-tune.
