B.Fleezy aka Breezy aka I Got Opinions About Opinions is BAAAAAACCCK!

This past summer I promised myself that I would never ever (ever, ever) use the word “swagger” again. Like so many other terms in black vernacular, it seemed swagger had literally took on a life of its own. I was fed up. People were no longer being judged on the content of their character, but instead on how much swag they had.

It all reminded me of the final scene in Juice when Omar Epps’ character is told “you got the juice now.” Swagger is “the juice” version 2008 and everyone ( and they momma) thinks they have it. Now I admit, I have used the “s” word once or twice. Upon seeing a guy that by all standards is not attractive, I have said things such as “ yeah his eye is kind of lazy, but he has swag.” So when I made the resolution to retire the term, it was in many ways, the first step to recovery.

I admitted I had a problem, and I vowed to fix it. And then something happened. The track Swagger Like Us happened. T.I., Kanye, Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne happened. Sampling a line from M.I.A’s Paper Planes, this hip-hop quartet makes a seemingly undeniable claim in one of the hottest songs this fall- no one has swagger like them. Of course Jim Jones would beg to differ, but I’m really more interested in what you think.

Who, in the music industry, has the most swagger? I know.. I know.. by asking this question I am perpetuating usage of the word, but hey- if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Swag on playa… swag on.

True enough, Legend’s brash commentary is catching a lot of us off guard, but hey, like Three stacks suggested, “Sometimes you gotta step from behind the piano and let them know what’s going on. Even Stevie Wonder got down, sometimes.” Remember the song playing at the end of the “Green Light” video (which can be viewed right here) well, your prayers have been answered… I FOUND THE TUNE!

Is “Good Morning” the official second single, who knows. But, I can definitely tell you that at least ONCE we’ve all shared the same theory of staying in bed the morning after our late night rendezvous for an extra spooning session, correct? Anyway, enough of the chit chatter, just down download the darn thing and see for yourself.

President Carter gives the Blueprint trilogy a release date!

Well, the same little birdie that told me about this,has now informed me that Sir Beyonce Knowles has set a release date for his 10th solo offering. The Blueprint 3, a project that has been 90% constructed by Mr. West, will be hitting the masses December 2nd, 2008. 

Now since Ye shuffled his release month to Novemeber (a specific date has yet to be set), the Clash of the Titans has been erased from the SoundScan calendar (we all kno Curtis was going to move his date to Kanye’s). But interestingly enough, with Curtis landing a December 9 date and now Jay planting BP3 on the 2nd, can we expect some type of Forbes Throwdown between the two?

Jay Vs. 50, David Vs. Goliath,  Jordan Vs. Lebron, Bugs Vs. Daffy, Is THIS the showdown we’ve all been waiting for? Your thoughts….NOW, PLEASE!

Sidebar: The “Swagger Like Us” sequel has been CONFIRMED. Verses from Jeezy, Nas, and Andre 3000 have already been recorded. However, 50’s efforts were excluded from the track because, well, he was never asked. I guess Fif’s swagger just wasn’t good enough, lol!

Rumors, nah, I don’t do those, but when this rumor slid across my desk, I just had to pump some more oxygen into it. And the only reason WHY I’m applying pressure to this particular anecdote is because on the original version, T.I. mentions Jeezy during his verse, so there actually might be some truth to this. Regardless if this rumor is true or false….wait, before I continue on, let me first address the issue at hand.

According to a little birdie, President Carter is looking to recruit some new soldiers for a “Swagger Like Us” sequel. Participants include; 50 Cent, Nas, Andre 3000, and of course, Young Jeezy. What to make of this new revelation, I have no idea. BUT, if this were to become a reality………GOOOD LORD! It’s bad enough the original was like, one of the BEST tracks in the last 5 years, but to make a sequel that just might surpass the original…..ahhhhhhhhhhhh sh*t!

It was also noted that Hova wanted the sequel to live on his new offering, The Blueprint 3. Word to everything I love, if Mr. Beyonce Knowles chooses to release BP3 anytime after December….*makes mean face and punches computer screen*.

Oh, Hova also scored a cover over at TimeOut, a popular NYC publication. Check out the interview here…… 

What your thoughts???? Did Jay choose the right candidates to showcase their Swaggerific flows, or are there a few applicants still obsolete from the festivities???? SOUND OFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!

My psychic powers did NOT predict this, but hey, you have to love the unexpected. Recently revealed to Rolling Stone, Andre 3000 is finally prepping his return to the hip hop realm. Of course, details about the project weren’t mentioned, but he did express he’s been crafting content for the project, but still looking for the exact lane on how to release it to the masses. 3000 said of the project, “It should be dropping by the end of this year or early next year. I’ve pretty much been working by myself.”

Though I’m extremely excited about Andre hitting studio, I’m deeply sadden about his sentiments in regards to collaborating with anyone. Now I’m not sure if 3 Stacks is referring to Big Boi or everyone, but I damn sure hope he has his partner in rhyme(Big Boi) on the project. “I’ve never really been that big on collaboration,” he said. “I have a concept, and all the soundscapes are already in my head, so I just have to figure out how to get there. I’ve learned that I’m most powerful when I’m doing my art” Andre expressed.

Are you guys ready for a solo project from Andre or do we need another OutKast album??? I’m heading to lunch, but when I get back, I BETTER see some comments (I meant that in the nicest way, lol)

Probably one of the most soulful voices in R&B today, John Legend is back with a new single from his untitled 3rd solo studio LP. The new single “Green Light” which features an appearance from Outkast member, Andre 3000, will surely raise an eyebrow (but in a good way).

Honestly, I didn’t expect this type of groovy track from Mr. Legend, but after a couple of listens, I definitely have taken a serious liking to it. Now before you write this song off, let it marinate in your system (music system and judgmental system) and get back to me with your final verdict as to whether or not you can see yourself bumping this in the upcoming Summer season.
