Owwwww, JT & TI are back at it again!
TI and Justin Timberlake always make a great team. First it was “My Love” and that dominated video and radio outlets everywhere. Owwwww, JT & TI are back at it again!

TI and Justin Timberlake always make a great team. First it was “My Love” and that dominated video and radio outlets everywhere. Then TI blessed us with the therapeutic, “Dead and Gone” from Paper Trail. And now, Justin and TIP are back in the clubs with yet another banger titled, “If I”.

Now I couldn’t tell you if this derives from a new project via Justin or TI, but I can tell you this tune will be all over every urban radio mix show in a matter of days, trust me!

Since this is a nice lil club diddy, it’s not to much to commentate about. I’m in holiday mode right now, so everything you see on these pages will be “Holiday Party” ready. Brought to you by the good folks (LowKey) over at B.E.T. You Haven’t Heard This! Enjoy

Well, well, well…..what do we have here???
I can definitely assure you this came out of left field. Out of all people, T-Pizzle snatches the “other” white boy with soul and throws him on the Vocoder???
I can definitely assure you this came out of left field. Out of all people, T-Pizzle snatches the “other” white boy with soul and throws him on the Vocoder??? It wasn’t a bad move because it sounds pretty decent, however, I’m hoping the two don’t ponder up a T-Pain/Justin Timberlake concoction for 2009, SERIOUSLY!

For some reason, JT sounds almost the same under the vocal trickery. Has JT been using the Vocoder this whole time???? Nah, it couldn’t be….COULD IT? Kanye even said he’s been using Auto-Tune since College Dropout, so hey, anything’s possible.

As I’ve discussed in a previous blog, Blue-Eyed Soul wasn’t born yesterday. Robin Thicke, Amy Whinehouse and Justin Timberlake are just the latest singers to join a movement who began in the 60s and reached a peak in the 80s with singers like Michael McDonald, Daryl Hall (Hall & Oates) and Rick Astley just to name a few.

As always, folks disagreed on which singers have earned the “black” or “soulful” tags. While some credit Phil Collins for being soul, the aforementioned artists had us thinking they were brothers before we finally saw their videos. So, what exactly about a singer makes him sound “black?” Is it all vocals, or does it also have to do with production? Sound Off!

–Jackpot
