Class of 2009 Update: Kid Cudi

According to this man, the sky MIGHT fall……Again, if you’re familiar with our Class of 2009 package from earlier this year, you’ll once again be familiar with Mr. Kid Cudi. And if you’re not, please, track back a couple posts, rifle through the collection of new artists and treat yourself to the sounds of Kid Cudi.

From what I was told, this track is supposed to appear on the soundtrack for the Transformers sequel, which is slated to hit theaters June 24. Cudi broke this audio gem a couple days ago during a live performance and now the full version (not sure if it’s completed) of the track has surfaced for our listening pleasure.

Broken hearts and hip hop……… You can always count on Kanye to deliver a piece of work that may have you puzzled, stuck, content and lost (in the visual sense) towards the conclusion of the whatever you’re observing. “Welcome To Heartbreak”, a track that propels heartbreak on all different levels, is the third single from Kanye’s critically acclaimed, 808’s & Heartbreak set.

After my first run through, I couldn’t tell if the computer pixels in my screen were acting in an absurd manner or if Kanye decided to head left field once again and separate himself from the pack. I think I’ll go with the latter. Correlation between the contexts of the video and it’s visual= ZERO. But that damn sure doesn’t mean the video wasn’t ill in its own creative way. Thoughts??????

On Location: Hot 97’s Holiday Bash W/ T.I., Luda, Jeezy and More

Hot 97 takes over Nassau Coliseum! What would a holiday season be without Young Jeezy running out in the middle of Angie Martinez introducing his set, Ludacris bringing out Busta Rhymes for an impromptu performance of, “Scenario” or almost receiving 3rd degree burns from T.I.’s pyrotechnics at the start of his set?

Saturday, Angie Martinez, DJ Enuff and Cipha Sounds hosted Hot 97’s, Holiday Bash at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island with performances from Nina Sky, Ryan Leslie, Jim Jones, Kid Cudi, Juelz Santana, Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Busta Rhymes, Ron Browz and T.I.

Though I’ve seen each artist perform at least 3 times since taking this job, I can tell you standing 3 feet away from the stage gives you a COMPLETELY different vibe (I.E. getting water thrown on your camera, having fire sparks fly 2 inches past your upper lip). BIG BIG BIG shouts are in order for Lesley Hope from N’Somniatic Entertainment Group and Big League Entertainment, who produced the show!

And you know what the best part about all of this is, I don’t have to talk you to death about who performed (I’ll save that for the other side of town, lol), I can easily show you, below. ENJOY!
