Knocked Up, but in a good way…..Despite rumors of having a troubled marriage, odd couple, Kelis and Nasir Jones are now expecting their first little tyke into this wonderful world of ours. Perez Hilton and Us Weekly are reporting the couple are expecting, but have yet to confirm the sex or the exact date of the baby’s arrival. Awwwww, isn’t love so awesome *Shrugs*.

A source close to the couple adds, “It’s all they are talking about. She is carrying hip-hop royalty!” says the insider, who adds Kelis — currently in her first trimester — already has a little bump. “They are so excited.”

If it’s a boy, expect a militant street poet who will sport Kufi’s, fitteds, a Canary yellow Jesus piece along with latest Fila sneakers that Poppa Nas gave him for Kwanzaa. He’ll also call Young Hova’s offspring corny during the first day of 2nd grade which will later be solved with a closed doors meeting held by Biggie and Diddy’s sons.

If it’s a girl, well Kelis is already weird enough, so that’ll be a sight to see within it’s own right. Regardless, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HAPPY/UNHAPPY COUPLE!

Kanye Or Luda? You choose….. Here we go again; the Clash of the Titans, the Rumble in the Jungle, Soundscan Showdown….ummm yeah, that’s all I could think at the moment. To be honest, this is nowhere near to what happened with Curtis and Mr. West last year. Kanye didn’t call out Mr. Bridges on 106 & Park, Ye didn’t offer to retire his rhyming abilities if Luda beat him in sales and they both didn’t appear on this month’s Rolling Stones issue.

I have to give it to Def Jam; the big machine that could, they cornered the market and gave us the best in hip hop, R&B, pop and whatever else you would like to classify Kanye’s new work of art as. Ludacris’s theatrical effort shows us exactly why he’s one of the most underrated MC’s in the game. Holding his own against, Jay-Z, Nas, The Game, T.I., and Rick Ross, Luda made sure we knew whose show it was.

On the other side of the town, the Louis Vuitton Don took an emotional and creative risk and wore his broken heart directly on his chest (literally). Filled with nothing but a pessimistic perception on love (who could blame him after the loss of his mother and fiance) Kanye spoon fed his advocates EXACTLY what he was dealing with. He even convinced Weezy and Jeezy to dive into his world.

Regardless, both LP’s offer such a distinctive sound that neither project will cross paths. If you frequent these parts, you’ve probably had a good taste of what both projects have to offer. However, since the final projects are officially out today, I would LOVE to know which one are you copping and why. To help influence your decision, I’ve provided a gem of choice from both projects. HAVE FUN!

And it starts……… I don’t know if this was a coincidence or what, but moments before I copped the December/January issue of XXL Magazine, I received an email blast about 50 gracing the cover. Usually when I get these types of emails, the issue won’t hit newsstands until later that week, but surprisingly, as I was walking home in the DEAD of winter last night, I saw the issue at one of my bootleg Magazine shops (you know the magazine stands that get the issues 2 weeks before they’re released) and scooped that bad boy right up.

As always, Fif had some interesting words for his usual targets; Kanye West, Nasir Jones, Fat Joe and Young Buck. I haven’t seen these blurbs anywhere else on the net, so scroll down and dissect Fiddy’s latest ramblings….

On not starting beef this album release…

“I didn’t set it up. I didn’t set it up none of those times. You think I asked for the disrespect from Fat Joe on Rap City? That’s what restarted everything. And, later on, I think he acknowledged it. Later on, he said, “Yo, they threw some shit at me that he said a while back.” And he responded aggressively. And me, I’m like, where the f*k is this coming from? I’m not even thinking about him right now.”

On not responding to Nas’s, “Queens Get Money”….

“Man, Nas is cold as ice. Nas is the block of ice that sunk the Titanic…..I didn’t even hear his record. I didn’t even hear the record you’re talking about. I really don’t want to talk about Nas. I think he’s at one of those points to where his career’s finished, to be honest. He’s had some great moments and made good music in the past, but he no longer has the interest of the general public or myself.”

On Kanye’s 808’s and Heartbreak…

“I enjoyed his other records since hearing “Love Lockdown.” He impressed me. “Heartless” and “Coldest Winter.” And he might actually be right; this might be the album that I really like from him. When he said it, he was probably being a little humorous, but he got some balls, man. He’s willing to go head and make and R&B album. That’s a lot. He could not recover from this…..I think that’s cool, if your fans will permit you to be creative in that way. From a business perspective, you gotta offer what performs. The public will tell me that Curtis is a failure. And I sold 700,000 copies the first week. So what do I gotta do? Reach a million, at minimum??”

On why he released the Young Buck conversation

“I already saw who Buck was. And I see that he was gonna continuously be that, and that wasn’t gonna be healthy for either one of us. So its better to destroy him then destroy both of us. They type of person he is- spontaneous and impulsive, and then you add addiction to it- you got someone who is in a real destructive space. So I can’t allow me or my business to be damaged in any way!”

Ahh, it’s always refreshing to rifle through the mind of Curtis Jackson. I’m surprised at his tone towards Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak. But, I’m not surprised about his feelings towards Nasir; I guess those two will NEVER get along (tear, lol). As for Young Buck….such a sad case. Anyway, for the complete story, pick up a copy….trust me, it’s WORTH the journey..even though the wind WILL smack you harder than Maino did Yung Berg (ok ok, sorry, sheesh!)

Sincerely

Low “Fiddy must be salty since Nas dissed him in the mathematical sense on “Queens Get The Money” Key

Luda, Nasir and Hova “Do It For Hip Hop” Maybe if this didn’t come out with tags last week, I might be a wee bit more excited than I am right now. Anyway, Luda worked his magical southern fairy dust and managed to get Nasir and Hova on his album together saluting the many reasons they do it for hip hop.

Now maybe I’m being a bit judgmental, but isn’t the “I love hip hop” commentary becoming a bit redundant? I’m sure it is, but once it comes from our favorite artists, the pass is given and we’re once again subjected to the obvious. Dah well, it’s still great to hear these three FINALLY on a track together. “I Do It For Hip Hop” derives from Luda’s new album, Theater of the Mind, which is slated to hit stores November 24th, alongside Kanye’s, 808’s & Heartbreak. As always, your exclusive tunage is brought to you by the good folks of B.E.T. If you married the hottest chick in the game would you care about another rapper? Didn’t think so……

Usually when I comb through random internet ramblings, I reserve commentary for the barbershop or a one on one convo with one of my ace boon coons (another name for “homey”). However, a certain post over at Sohh.Com (scroll down to the one about The Game and Jay-Z) peaked my interest, which then sparked me to construct a Top 10 post. Before I proceed, this post is NOT a slap in the face to the writer that composed the piece, it’s just my personal take on the subject at hand.

Over the years, I’ve noticed President Carter doesn’t extend his microphone to many. And when he does, it’s through former affiliation or employee partnership which leads me to believe Jay really doesn’t give a rats ass about the common rapper. Now I know the surface of that comment sounds harsh, but hear me out. When Hov came into the game, he pretty much received the cold shoulder from a lot of people. But of course, as his popularity grew, so did the courtship from other MC’s. Aside from Yeezy, T.I., Jeezy, Jadakiss, Ross, Nas (if someone earned me a check, I’d care for them, too), Common and maybe like 2 others, Young Hov could careless about a rapper or if they like his music or personality.

With that said, here are my top 10 reasons as to why Jay-Z Doesn’t Care About Other Rappers. ENJOY!

10. His best friend (Memphis Bleek) is his favorite rapper.…..

Today, I had the pleasure in attending probably one of the most informative press conferences in a long time. The Smirnoff Expeirnece, which is a global series of events celebrating the brands eclectic taste in music, is taking to the stage tonight with a flurry of performances from Nas, N.E.R.D., Spank Rock, Grandmaster Flash and Buckshot from Blackmoon. But before the show, Smirnoff held an interesting press confernce in support of the tonights showcase, earlier today. The forum, which was hosted by MTV’s, Sway, was an open forum/discussion about a series of topics ranging from Africa, why the participants got involved, among other things.

Since I’m in a bit of a rush right now, I’ve uploaded a couple of clips from Nas, Grandmaster Flash and Pharrell talking about the aforementioned topics. I also snagged Pharrell talking about the rumored break up between him and his producing buddy, Chad Hugo, in which he asserted was “totally not true at all”. Tomorrow, I’ll have some DOPE footage from the concert as well.

Sincerely

Swag; Who has it and who DOESN’T!*Disclaimer*

B.Fleezy aka Breezy aka I Got Opinions About Opinions is BAAAAAACCCK!

This past summer I promised myself that I would never ever (ever, ever) use the word “swagger” again. Like so many other terms in black vernacular, it seemed swagger had literally took on a life of its own. I was fed up. People were no longer being judged on the content of their character, but instead on how much swag they had.

It all reminded me of the final scene in Juice when Omar Epps’ character is told “you got the juice now.” Swagger is “the juice” version 2008 and everyone ( and they momma) thinks they have it. Now I admit, I have used the “s” word once or twice. Upon seeing a guy that by all standards is not attractive, I have said things such as “ yeah his eye is kind of lazy, but he has swag.” So when I made the resolution to retire the term, it was in many ways, the first step to recovery.

I admitted I had a problem, and I vowed to fix it. And then something happened. The track Swagger Like Us happened. T.I., Kanye, Jay-Z and Lil’ Wayne happened. Sampling a line from M.I.A’s Paper Planes, this hip-hop quartet makes a seemingly undeniable claim in one of the hottest songs this fall- no one has swagger like them. Of course Jim Jones would beg to differ, but I’m really more interested in what you think.

Who, in the music industry, has the most swagger? I know.. I know.. by asking this question I am perpetuating usage of the word, but hey- if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Swag on playa… swag on.

Sincerely

B “The word has now been laid to rest” Fleezy

President Carter gives the Blueprint trilogy a release date!

Well, the same little birdie that told me about this, has now informed me that Sir Beyonce Knowles has set a release date for his 10th solo offering. The Blueprint 3, a project that has been 90% constructed by Mr. West, will be hitting the masses December 2nd, 2008.

Now since Ye shuffled his release month to Novemeber (a specific date has yet to be set), the Clash of the Titans has been erased from the SoundScan calendar (we all kno Curtis was going to move his date to Kanye’s). But interestingly enough, with Curtis landing a December 9 date and now Jay planting BP3 on the 2nd, can we expect some type of Forbes Throwdown between the two?

Jay Vs. 50, David Vs. Goliath, Jordan Vs. Lebron, Bugs Vs. Daffy, Is THIS the showdown we’ve all been waiting for? Your thoughts….NOW, PLEASE!

Sidebar: The “Swagger Like Us” sequel has been CONFIRMED. Verses from Jeezy, Nas, and Andre 3000 have already been recorded. However, 50’s efforts were excluded from the track because, well, he was never asked. I guess Fif’s swagger just wasn’t good enough, lol!

Sincerely

I guess there’s enough swagger to go around, huh?

Rumors, nah, I don’t do those, but when this rumor slid across my desk, I just had to pump some more oxygen into it. And the only reason WHY I’m applying pressure to this particular anecdote is because on the original version, T.I. mentions Jeezy during his verse, so there actually might be some truth to this. Regardless if this rumor is true or false….wait, before I continue on, let me first address the issue at hand.

According to a little birdie, President Carter is looking to recruit some new soldiers for a “Swagger Like Us” sequel. Participants include; 50 Cent, Nas, Andre 3000, and of course, Young Jeezy. What to make of this new revelation, I have no idea. BUT, if this were to become a reality………GOOOD LORD! It’s bad enough the original was like, one of the BEST tracks in the last 5 years, but to make a sequel that just might surpass the original…..ahhhhhhhhhhhh sh*t!

It was also noted that Hova wanted the sequel to live on his new offering, The Blueprint 3. Word to everything I love, if Mr. Beyonce Knowles chooses to release BP3 anytime after December….*makes mean face and punches computer screen*.

Oh, Hova also scored a cover over at TimeOut, a popular NYC publication. Check out the interview here……

What your thoughts???? Did Jay choose the right candidates to showcase their Swaggerific flows, or are there a few applicants still obsolete from the festivities???? SOUND OFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!

Sincerely

Low “I wonder if Diddy’s going to drive through Manhattan in a Jeep Wrangler if he’s left off the remix” Key
