You know what, I’m going out on a limb here…..after watching Barack snatch the 44th president slot right from under the republicans tight grip, I thought to myself, “Wow, that man is having the best week ever”. But then I took a step back, really evaluated the journey I was about to embark and said, “Nah, my president’s black, I went to Cabo for WORK and the Giants beat the Eagles 36-31″ Yeah, I think LowKey is having the BEST WEEK EVER!

Since I received the notice for 50’s 24 hour excursion two weeks ago, I’ve been itching to hit Mexico’s soil. Kendra, an Interscope Records rep, gave me the logistics regarding the trip and before she could even finish explaining, I was already picking out my outfit for the festivities. They put us up in a Hilton Resort RIGHT on the beach, which made my life a living hell since I had to leave the very next day. No worries, I purchased an ice cold Pina Colada, took a stroll down to the water and just CHILLED…AHHHH PARADISE!

After 3 PC’s, we hopped in the designated trucks and slid to the designated destination. See, E! (the network) is putting together a reality show where their interns will be charged with organizing a special 50 Cent event for 60 key invited taste makers, bloggers, DJ’s, contest winners, etc. The concept of the show is based around a bunch of interns who work for E! and LG that are trying to break in to the entertainment industry.

Once we got to the venue, there was a red carpet set up for the attendees to walk on and of course my simple behind had to act like common sense was a thing of the past. Regardless, I held my composure and kept it cool during the evening. We played Fif’s new “Blood In The Sand” video game on XBox (I had no clue what was going on), tasted some very exotic hors d’oeuvres and conducted a fair share of flirting. After the G-Unit boys showed up, things got extremely interesting. 50 spent playing, “Blood in the Sand” with Hof from OnSmash.Com, Yayo joked around with Hot 97’s, Miss Info, DJ Kast One and DJ Self kept cracking up at god knows what, Banks entertained a flirtatious female’s banter which commenced with the phrase, “You make me excited and I don’t know why.”

After a quick performance, we hit a private screening to view Fif’s directorial debut, “Before I Self-Destruct”. The movie will be packaged with the album as well. Once that was concluded, well, what happens in Cabo, stays in Cabo. Enjoy these dope flicks and Fif’s performance of “Get Up” at the party, below (Good looks, Info)!

I can see it now, Damien rocking side by side with 50 and the crew at Madison Square Garden. During the show, Damien was extremely intrigued by the bulletproof vest lying in front of him, so like the curious host that he is, he asks, “Can I try it on”.

Yayo slides it over the top of Damien’s head while explaining EVERY known fact in the Bulletproof vest handbook. Damien then says, “I interviewed 50 for the first time in this studio while he had one of these things on.” Something tells me Damien thought, “Sitting this close to a man with a bulletproof vest can’t be good”.

Word to the wise, if you’re standing next to anyone with a bulletproof vest GET AWAY….FAST!

Damien and Yayo are in the control room commentating about the previous Bust, and Damien asks Yayo, “Hey have you’ve ever had to much to drink” Yayo responds, “Of course, we were on 50’s boat and I had tooooo much Patron. I asked Jesus to help me because I was so drunk”. Damien says back, “Well, did he help you with that problem?” Yayo responds, “Nah, he didn’t”. Damien quips, “Of course not, he had bigger problems to deal with”. SMH

Since I frequent Seaside Heights, the last Bust recap was alllll too familiar. A drunk vigilante was busted urinating in public and the cop busting the pisser says, “You’re not going to urinate in front of me and get away with it” HA! He then asks the kid, “What’s the deal with you urinating in public?” This intoxicated fool says, “Urinating in public? I have no idea what’s going on”

Uh oh, Akron, Ohio has a live bust. An 18 year old is under arrest for drinking in public and Ryan, the correspondent is SCARED sh*tless. Two more hours left…..I’m really going to get something to eat right now…..

So far things are moving slowly over here at MTV’s Busted Finale. Damien asks Yayo if you have to beat someone up on the first day of a jail bid and Yayo replies, “Yeah, of course”. Damien, eyes wider than a deer that’s caught in traffic, replies “I’m scared”.

Recapping from their previous episodes, Aimee and Brandon from Toms River, NJ got caught smoking the cheeba in a yellow Volkswagon Bug. I swear, when people get caught doing something they’re not supposed, it’s like they actually forgot they weren’t allowed to do what they’ve been busted for. Like hey, “I didn’t know you couldn’t operate a vehicle while intoxicated” or “What, weed is illegal to carry in your back pocket”?

No live busts yet, but I’m sure something is BOUND to happen in the NEXT three hours. Oh sh*t, there’s a live bust going on. False alarm; shorty was only riding with her headlights out. Time to eat!

Wait wait wait, hold up! Did I miss something here? As you know, last night I attended the G-Unit listening session for their new album, Terminate on Sight, and I don’t know how in the hell I missed this, but 50 took some low low low low jabs at the self proclaimed King Of The South and he MEANT every word of it.

On a joint called “You So Tough”, 50 had some choice words for the pint sized gun slinger. I noticed something was up when my industry cohort, Miss Info, emerged from the back of the listening and said “Can you run that back please?” Yayo answered with a mischievous smile “Oh you wanna hear that again?”

Here are a couple quotes Info snatched from 50’s verse….

“Nowaways this rap shit aint adding up. How n—-s get caught with 10 machine guns, only get 12 months”?

“Oo-weee, don’t talk to me. If you talking to him, you talking to them…”

“I got the best lawyers that money can buy….they say at best they woulda got me 10 or maybe 9.”

“I said, how do you explain how the homie breezed? They said, you keep your mouth shut or you eat the cheese.”

C’mon 50, T.I. already has enough BS to deal with, does he reallllllly need you on his back as well? I know you have your album hitting stores in about 2 weeks, but damn, not TIP, hell, not anyone! I can already see T.I. breezing right past this issue, but TIP, well that’s another story.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, let the discussion begin; well several discussions in this matter. Will T.I. respond or is he to busy keeping himself on good terms before his bid? And if he does respond, could he go toe to toe with 50 or will Curtis dismantle T.I. like he did Mr. Rule?

I’ve been an avid reader of XXL Mag for quite some time now, and though each issue provides me with a bit of hip-hop knowledge I may have lacked before reading, this issue was one of the best I’ve read to DATE! 

Since the departure of Elliott Wilson, the magazine’s former Editor In Chief, everyone’s perception of the publication has been clouded with the mindset of ”they wont survive without him.” But with an issue of this stature, it blatantly reminds us of why they’re the #1 publication in the business.

Digging deep into the archives, Vanessa Satten and her team of goons wipe the dust off one of hip hop’s classic CD’s, DMX’s freshmen debut, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot. Dissecting the body of work from front to back, Irv Gotti, Swizz Beatz, Sheek Louch, Styles P, Dame Grease, Dee, Waah and DMX trot down memory lane remembering the good and bad times of It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot.
