The R. Kelly trial finally began yesterday, and the defense seems to be banking on one mole. That’s right, during their opening statement, defense attorneys for R. Kelly claim that the guy in the infamous R. Kelly video does not have a mole and that R. Kelly does.

It gets better (or worse, depending on how you look at it). Lawyers claim that the woman in the video was a prostitute, because she was paid at the end. They also say that the alleged victim is “sweet and nice.”

Remember, a few weeks ago, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that a witness for the prosecution was going to testify that she had a three-some with R. Kelly and the alleged victim.

The R. Kelly trial, which has been postponed time and time again, is finally set to take place this month, and a new witness could potentially mean trouble for R. As you may or may not know, R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges stemming from a video where R. Kelly is allegedly having sex with an under-aged girl. The girl, who is now in her 20s, was set to testify that it was not her in the video, however a new witness is coming forward.

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that another woman who claims to have had a threesome with R. Kelly and the underaged girl in the video, will testify on behalf of the prosecution and identify the woman in the video, who she will testify was under age at the time. Jury selection in this high-profile case is set to take place on Friday (May 9).
