Top 10- 10 Things You WON’T See @ The 2009 BET Awards

I can GUARANTEE you will NOT see these 10 things come Sunday night….As the 2009 BET Awards inch closer and closer, we here at BET.com would like to set some ground rules as to what you WILL not see this Sunday. Now I know, award shows are all about the surprises, the theatrics, but at some point, a line has to be drawn…an envelope doesn’t need to be pushed lol.
Of course, with Eminem having another mans tush thrown in his face at the MTV Movie Awards several weeks back, a majority of you are pondering the thought of “What will BET do to top that?” NOTHING- so don’t even ask lol.
I wanted to pump this list out several days prior, but I figured I’d wait till the ceremony got a bit closer. In jest, of course, these 10 items are in no way, shape or form geared to offend anyone at all. And if you’re familiar (you should be by now) with my commentary, you already know I’ve never have. So, without further ado, I present, The Top 10 Things You Will NOT See At The 2009 BET Awards. ENJOY!
10.) You will not see Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz confess their undying love for each other (i.e. hit the red carpet together). With Swizzy putting a GAG order on Ms. Keys about the aforementioned issue, I’m pretty sure the two will sit on opposite sides of the auditorium. Hell, they might even go as far as arriving with their own dates. Smh, whatever happened to black love.
9.) You probably won’t see Drake announce his label home since I pretty much did it for him on this side of town. Not trying to burst his “Surprise I signed with..” bubble, but that information pretty much fell into my lap so I had no choice but to let it ooze all over the BET Awards Blog. Was I wrong?? Wouldn’t care if I was.
8.) You probably won’t see me present an award holding a Coldstones Bang Bang Boogie Milkshake while wearing an exclusive pair of SB Blazers with one of the SEXIEST Hanes White-Tee Shirts in the HISTORY of Hanes Apparel. All while standing next to Keri Hilson who has her hand in my back left pocket humming the melody to “Make Love” while we walk to the podium as she attempts to watch my sodium. And this WON’T happen only because I missed 67567657 flights Friday morning, afternoon and night because US Airways thought it would be funny to film their new reality series “Punked: The Delayed & Canceled Flights” Edition.
7.) You damn sure won’t see Rihanna and Chris Brown sitting next to each other. I’m not saying you won’t see them at the awards at all, I’m just guaranteeing you will NOT see them arrive or sit anywhere remotely close to each other.
6.) You DEFINITELY will not see any stabbings, open hand slaps, chain snatching, gun toting or weave pulling activities anywhere inside The Shrine Auditorium. I don’t care how ghetto some of these artists and their “Yes Men” maybe, I REFUSE to tolerate ANY tom foolery of the sort. And if i do…..you can bet your ASS I’m popping off on someone lol. I didn’t camp out in 3 airports over the past 48 hours to witness a bunch of FUC*ERY.
5.) You will not see or hear Lil Wayne announce bringing another crumb snatcher into this world. Assuming the rumors about him knocking up Lauren London and Nivea are valid, he’s PROBABLY doing his best to stay away from any podium tomorrow night.
4.) You will not see or hear “Auto-Tune”. See #5 for reason why.
3.) You will NOT see Shawn Corey Carter sporting THIS. I, along with everyone else who is a fan of grooming, can and will NOT tolerate this anymore. We love Jay like our very own, but it’s just not fair to our eyes, his scalp and mankind. Please Jay………..PLEASE! If you hit that stage with THIS, I just might lose it lol.
2.) You will not see Shanaynay land ass up in the lap of Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, The Clipse, Pharrell, T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Nelly, Ludacris, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Kanye West, Fabolous or any other male hip hopper. And if you DO, I strongly suggest you DUCK!
1.) You WILL NOT see Jamie Foxx lip locking with Debra Lee. I know Foxx is the host and that pretty much gives him the green light to push every envelope, but like I said before, we’re doing this a bit different. Fantasia was shocking, Halle Berry made the male species envious, but Debra Lee???????????????? NOW THAT’S JUST WRONG!

I cannot wait to watch the awards!!!!!!!! I know it will be great so many people performing and the tribute to Micheal Jackson not to mention Jamie Foxx is hosting. I am going to enjoy every minute of this.
All worlds will be watching tonight – BET has a unique opportunity to give up to the lyrics – ” You & I will make a pact to bring salvation back”. Or least dignity. What is most interesting, if you look at white/black worlds, the black community is more open/willing to accept Micheal. Maybe that is also his legency for all to reach that place of accpetance….

i am looking foward in watching the BET awards every year there is somthing new and exciting in store!!! its a very good expirence to see how far hip-hop has came. and i cant wait to see the tribute to MJ he will be missed dearly hes the reason we have hip-hop

I am sick and tired of hearing all of the bad language on the BET Awards, so much that a lot of it is being bleeped. Michael Jackson never had to do any cussing to get his music across, and I wish the rest of the performers would follow suit. Shame on you Jamie Fox
Michael was a professional. He did not come on stage high or drunk nor did he perform off the fly. If you want to honor Michael and his music you better step your game up. Michael was a professional, dedicated to excellence and hard work. He was a icon to the world because of his hard work, talent and excellence. Talent is not enough, you need hard work and a dedication to excellence. Don’t forget that message. I love you young people but you must step up your game!
I’ll tell you something that you shouldn’t see, and that is Joe Jackson using an event like tonight’s award ceremony paying tribute to his son to promote his next business venture. How sick. Fans all over the world are devastated over the death of Michael Jackson and when his dad is asked how he is doing, he says “Great!” No wonder Michael was so tormented.
So far I am not remotly empressed with the award show, it just doesn’t seem to be living up to the hype given during the preshow. Truthfully, the preshow was a little better than the show up to this point.
This is LOS ANGELES – home of the World Champion LAKERS!! LeBron over Kobe for best male athlete!!! I am so disappointed, and please let me tell you, LeBron’s poor sportsmanship after the Cavalier’s loss to Orlando was not acceptable to any of the NBA fans! He left the building with no handshake to anyone – bolted right out with his mother driving him away. Kobe is a wonderful person with so much class…..AND so talented as an athlete. He is a MVP all around good guy……WE LOVE YOU KOBE. YOU ARE THE BEST!
And God bless Michael’s family – parents, siblilngs, children and loved ones around the world. What a beautiful gift to the world Michael was. He just personified purity in his childlike manner. A genius – talented and loving…

All I have to say is this show did not do justice to Michael Jackson. I didn’t see any musician there who could even come close to his professionalism. It was a total joke. You have got to be kidding me. Neo did a great job but the others were a joke.Please Please find some real talent in our community. Jamie Foxx basically spoofed Michael. Such a disappointment. Wow expected so much more from you BET. To have the world watching made this a circus. The pre show was horrible.
I just turned of f the BET special. I think that it is in poor taste when you are to be representing Michael Jackson and youir pants fall off because they are sagging so heavily. Represent him for what he stood for. His pants never came down where you could see his draws on any show that he did from 5 to 50. Honor him with dignity and pride not cursing and the waist of your pants falling off down to your knees.
Beyonce should have just sung Ave Maria. It would have been so touching because as much as we celebrate Michael’s life we should also pray for his soul. Her voice was more beautiful than ever. Song as prayer. Beautiful.Poor Michael.

in the thoughts that this is a tribute to Michael you could have anybody but Jamie Foxx. What he did at the beginning of the show was so inappropriate. If we want to be the alternative to the other news media then we should have celebrated Michael with some one who could be respectful. I am highly disappointed in Jamie. I wanted this to be so much more. We as Black people need to do everything we can to slow down the negative about Micheal and show the world we loved him. I know Jamie is a comedian but he needs to get it together. Instead of talking about a tribute to Micheal it will be a conversation about Jamie Foxx grabbing himself and using profanity on a major black network. Boooo Jamie.
