Top 10- 10 Things You WON’T See @ The 2009 BET Awards

I can GUARANTEE you will NOT see these 10 things come Sunday night….As the 2009 BET Awards inch closer and closer, we here at BET.com would like to set some ground rules as to what you WILL not see this Sunday. Now I know, award shows are all about the surprises, the theatrics, but at some point, a line has to be drawn…an envelope doesn’t need to be pushed lol.
Of course, with Eminem having another mans tush thrown in his face at the MTV Movie Awards several weeks back, a majority of you are pondering the thought of “What will BET do to top that?” NOTHING- so don’t even ask lol.
I wanted to pump this list out several days prior, but I figured I’d wait till the ceremony got a bit closer. In jest, of course, these 10 items are in no way, shape or form geared to offend anyone at all. And if you’re familiar (you should be by now) with my commentary, you already know I’ve never have. So, without further ado, I present, The Top 10 Things You Will NOT See At The 2009 BET Awards. ENJOY!
10.) You will not see Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz confess their undying love for each other (i.e. hit the red carpet together). With Swizzy putting a GAG order on Ms. Keys about the aforementioned issue, I’m pretty sure the two will sit on opposite sides of the auditorium. Hell, they might even go as far as arriving with their own dates. Smh, whatever happened to black love.
9.) You probably won’t see Drake announce his label home since I pretty much did it for him on this side of town. Not trying to burst his “Surprise I signed with..” bubble, but that information pretty much fell into my lap so I had no choice but to let it ooze all over the BET Awards Blog. Was I wrong?? Wouldn’t care if I was.
8.) You probably won’t see me present an award holding a Coldstones Bang Bang Boogie Milkshake while wearing an exclusive pair of SB Blazers with one of the SEXIEST Hanes White-Tee Shirts in the HISTORY of Hanes Apparel. All while standing next to Keri Hilson who has her hand in my back left pocket humming the melody to “Make Love” while we walk to the podium as she attempts to watch my sodium. And this WON’T happen only because I missed 67567657 flights Friday morning, afternoon and night because US Airways thought it would be funny to film their new reality series “Punked: The Delayed & Canceled Flights” Edition.
7.) You damn sure won’t see Rihanna and Chris Brown sitting next to each other. I’m not saying you won’t see them at the awards at all, I’m just guaranteeing you will NOT see them arrive or sit anywhere remotely close to each other.
6.) You DEFINITELY will not see any stabbings, open hand slaps, chain snatching, gun toting or weave pulling activities anywhere inside The Shrine Auditorium. I don’t care how ghetto some of these artists and their “Yes Men” maybe, I REFUSE to tolerate ANY tom foolery of the sort. And if i do…..you can bet your ASS I’m popping off on someone lol. I didn’t camp out in 3 airports over the past 48 hours to witness a bunch of FUC*ERY.
5.) You will not see or hear Lil Wayne announce bringing another crumb snatcher into this world. Assuming the rumors about him knocking up Lauren London and Nivea are valid, he’s PROBABLY doing his best to stay away from any podium tomorrow night.
4.) You will not see or hear “Auto-Tune”. See #5 for reason why.
3.) You will NOT see Shawn Corey Carter sporting THIS. I, along with everyone else who is a fan of grooming, can and will NOT tolerate this anymore. We love Jay like our very own, but it’s just not fair to our eyes, his scalp and mankind. Please Jay………..PLEASE! If you hit that stage with THIS, I just might lose it lol.
2.) You will not see Shanaynay land ass up in the lap of Young Jeezy, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, The Clipse, Pharrell, T-Pain, Soulja Boy, Nelly, Ludacris, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Kanye West, Fabolous or any other male hip hopper. And if you DO, I strongly suggest you DUCK!
1.) You WILL NOT see Jamie Foxx lip locking with Debra Lee. I know Foxx is the host and that pretty much gives him the green light to push every envelope, but like I said before, we’re doing this a bit different. Fantasia was shocking, Halle Berry made the male species envious, but Debra Lee???????????????? NOW THAT’S JUST WRONG!

OMG ARE THEY FREAKING SERIOUS…THIS IS THE WORST LOW BUDGET SHOW EVER.. WHERE IS THE TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON? NO ONE TRUELY UP HELD MICHAEL EXCEPT NE-YO. MICHAEL DESEVERED BETTER THEN THIS. THE CUSSING, THE UN PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCES, AND LACK OF RESPECT, MICHAELS FATHER WAS IN THE AUDIENCE, HE LOOKED UPSET AND I DON’T BLAME HIM. NO ONE BUT A HANDFUL PAID RESPECTS DURING THEIR SPEECHES UPON GETTING A REWARD. IF IT WASNT FOR MICHAEL OUR MUSIC CULTURE WOULDNT BE WHAT IT IS TODAY, I LOVE MICHAEL AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE HIM IN MY HEART. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE ARTIST GOT SOMETHING FROM MICHAEL RATHER ITS HIS MOVES, OR THE MUSIC BEHIND THE MAN…ITS ALL MICHAEL AND WILL ALWAYS BE MICHAEL. LAST MINUTE OR NOT MICHAEL DIED TWO DAYS AGO, THEY COULD OF CAME UP WITH A BETTER SHOW, I AM LOSING RESPECT DAY BY DAY FOR THE MUSIC. MARY MARY YOU ARE WOMEN OF GOD BUT TONIGHT I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. PLEASE EVERYONE LETS KEEP MICHAEL ALIVE, HE IS IN ALL OF US, BLACK WHITE ASIAN YOUNG AND THE YOUNG AT HEART. and all the non thankful non talent for not paying homage to the KING

I have had enough and I am turning this disgraceful program off. What a shame and what an awful tribute to the King of Pop. What were you all thinking BET?

I don’t know which one was more appauling, the
obsence language these so called artist use or
first rate sloppiness of the people that put this
show together. I was hoping that a decent family
oriented show, what a disappointment.
Man, i was just wondering why isnt rihanna and chris brown not at the bet awards. That could of showed up and paid there respects for Mj. And i know cb love mj. Thats no doubt. Man i wish there was there. But the awards is nice and theres more to come. But, still cb and rihanna should be there. R.I.P Michael Joseph Jackson. We love you!!
As a parent, I finally see Michael Jackson’s hurt … A parent’s love should not be about the level of succes of a child … When I heard Joe Jackson’s comments … it was not a father grieving the loss of a child … he said … something to the effect of losing the world’s best artist … I think that what Michael would have wanted to hear, was a father grieving his son and the loss of the humanitarian and talent that Michael was … As a parent, I would not need legal council or publicist to issue a statement about how I loved my child and how I grieved his/her presence at the family table
I;m sorry but i just cant believe that joe jackson is in the audience smiling away like nothing has happened. your not famous just becasue you had a child that became an icon. let michael rest in peace. he deserves to be in heaven with the angels. god rest your soul. sir your 10 minutes is up.
can you believe that the BET AWARDS is not all about the greatest black entertainer that ever lived ,can you believe this awful showBET put on tonight they honored the ojays instead od michael jackson my god I cant believe this.The ojays should be honored but not three days after michaels death with all those great singers available (why are they not singing michaels songs and honoring him )I am hurt and ashamed of this I am am hurt and ashamed at everthing BET is doing like those terrible reality shows like neffi and franklin and tiny and toya knowbody wants to look at that there is nothing on BET to watch for the summer except garbage I am so sad that thisw is all that they came up with.
I am extremely disappointed! You call this a tribute to the King of Pop?! What a darn shame and shame on you BET. I expected so much more – especially for “one of your own.” My (white) family has done more over the last three days to celebrate Michael’s life and mourn his passing. One thing that was confirmed for me after watching the program this evening . . .there has never been and will never be another that even comes close to the level of talent that Michael Jackson had. AND WHAT IS UP WITH JOE JACKSON?! Despite the very recent, sudden and tragic death of his son, it’s still all about Joe, how pathetically sad . . .
BET Awards show 2009 was the WORST award show that I ever seen!!!! I can not believe that BET could not come up with a better tribute to Michael Jackson than this. J. Foxx was terrible, his hosting, his spoofing of Michael, everything. New Edition was horrible. Why couldn’t BET let Chris Brown and Usher give a fitting tribute to Michael Jackson. I expected so much better from BET, what a disgrace. It seems that at times, J. Foxx had to beg for applause, it was that bad. For all that Michael Jackson done for BET, I cannot believe that this is the way that they tribute him. And had the nerve to bill at as a special tribute to Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson deserved so much more, he given us so much. BET what a big disappointment and embarrassment!!!! WORST SHOW EVER!!!!!!

BET TRICK US THEY KNEW WE WOULD NOT BE FEELING THESE OTHER SINGERS NOT TONIGHT AND WE WOULD NOT WATCH THE AWARDS TONIGHT BECAUSE OUR HEARTS ARE HEAVY DEBRA LEE SAID THE WHOLE SHOW WOULD BE DEDICATED TO MICHAEL BUT IT WASNT WE COULD HAVE WATCH THE OTHER CHANNELS DEDICATING HIM!

BET what is wrong with you, you are supposed to be BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION, and this is the best tribute that you can give to Michael Jackson???? What a Insult!!! Then you have the nerve to promote two more nonsense shows like “Frankie and Neffe” and “Tiny and Toya”, you do not think that your viewers deserve better.

this award show was a complete disgrace to the legend of MJ. it doesn’t come anywhere close to the dedication, love and respect he deserves. i’ve wasted my time by watching. i feel BET used the whole ‘tribute’ as a ploy just to get more viewers. it makes me sick. the performances have been half-rate and jamie foxx simply seemed to be mocking mj. it just makes me sad. i love you michael, you will be forever in my heart and in my childhood memories. RIP!
