Top 10: Ten Things Mase NEEDS To Become Relevant Again

Aye Mase, follow this manuscript and you might have a chance this time around! So since I JUST found out Mason Betha is returning to the foolery of Hip-Hop, it’s only right I supply him with a couple of tips to make his excursion back to the top a pleasant one. I know I know…..this is the third time he’s returned to the game, but I have the STRANGEST hunch that this time’s going to be different.
The first time he returned seemed forced. Contrary to what everyone thought, relinking with Diddy probably wasn’t the best thing for Young Betha. Yeah the two made history together, but Diddy was a completely different person when Mase decided Hip-Hop was his first love again.
The second time…ohhhh the second time. What in the sweet hell was he thinking linking with 50 Cent and his team of Southside Jamaica Queens soldiers? The demographics were completely off base and the chemistry between the two parties was disturbing.Tough talk and gun play just isn’t Mase’s forte. YUCK!
Now of course, I’m on the fence along with the rest of you because of his prior attempts, but like we always say..third time’s a charm, correct? In addition to Mase returning to the genre, he mended forces with an individual who at one point threatened his life in front of million of radio viewers. Maybe this time it’s different. Maybe Mase’s prior experience have given him the edge this time around and he’s conjured up the ultimate game plan.
Whatever it is, I’ll be waiting in the wings to see what unfolds in the next 3 months. And with that said, Mase jumped on the hottest record IN THE COUNTRY to prove he can still hang with the young bucks. But wait, I still have that Top Ten list of items Mase needs to become relevant again. I’ll make light of the situation, but also supply some hidden gems that could REVIVE Young Betha because LORD knows this is final opportunity.
10. It’s either GOD or Hip-Hop. I’m not saying both can’t co-exist, but Mase has used both to the extreme and has been ridiculed under both lights. If it’s Hip-Hop, stay out of the church lime light….especially if you’re talking about riddling your opponent’s car door with 5445 bullets. If it’s Church, let it be church. I’m sure the congregation isn’t a fan of you talking about the “Best I Ever Had”. Make your choice, Betha
9. No matter what the media, bloggers or DJ’s say, beef is NOT the answer. His prior confrontations did him no good and Mase was never that type of artist. Jumping head first into rap squabble will only give his demographic the notion he’s in this for the attention and not the love of the sport. He explained MJ’s passing gave him the inspiration to return…let’s hope it stays that way.
8. Remix EVERY record Fabolous has touched. It’s painfully obvious their styles are extremely close and since Mase basically fathered Fab’s R&B persona, why not show the world he still can do it better than everyone else who’s attempting it. In addition, Drake is RAPIDLY snatching that lane with ONE tune so if I were Mase…I’d get on the job…PRONTO.
7. Distance himself from Bad Boy Records and G-Unit Records as soon as possible. It’s adorable that both conglomerate’s attempted to revive Betha’s career, but both attempts were completey unorganic. Shock value even. Diddy wanted a check and 50 wanted attention. Well, both got what they wanted, but I think it’s about that time Mase got his.
6. DO NOT WEAR TIGHT CLOTHES OR BRIGHT COLORS!
5. Ink a deal with Atlantic Records or Interscope Records. See, Atlantic has lost their main attraction for the next 365 days and Interscope Records is losing 50 Cent after the release of his next project. Translation: Both parties are in desperate need of an urban leader. It could possibly be the worst thing for both imprints, but if done right Mase could be top 10 status once again.

3. Mixtape. Mixtape. Mixtape. MIXTAPES! Gangsta Grillz with DJ Drama. A Desert Storm collaboration with DJ Clue. SOMETHING. I can’t foresee the future with this particular task, but I do know the attention will shift once ONE of these are completed.
2. Stand next to Lil Wayne. I can’t front, I’m not the HUGEST advocate of the martian, but Weezy has worked WONDERS for Drake….so why can’t it work for Mase? I’m not saying Betha has to sign with Young Money or Cash Money, but the affiliation will be JUST enough to reel Mase’s long lost fans right back into those front row seats.
1. Return to the roots aka Cam’ron & Jim Jones. Clearly, this type of reunion would be monumental given the current status of Cam n Jim’s relationship, this could do wonders for Hip-Hop. Cam hates Jimmy. Cam loves Mase. Mase loves Cam. Jim loves Cam and Mase. Mase loves Cam and Jim. Am I missing something here??? Why can’t this work???

I watched the BET Awards last night and for the most part felt it was one of their better shows in years. I didn’t get where Beyonce was coming from in the outfit she had on (white wedding dress???) and singing Ave Maria. Was she supposed to be an angel of some sort? Plus I’m getting tired of only seeing her in body suits. Please put some clothing on. This look is tired. I’d like to make a statement concerning Joe Jackson and Al Sharpton. The two of them together look like to crooks….two people who are up to no good. I’m glad Michael did not put his father in his will. He does not deserve it. He did not have the talent….Michael did. I don’t care if he pushed and beat Michael and his siblings to fame, HE did not have the God given talent. He has not said ONE time anything about “His Son”. He keeps referring to Michael as an entertainer. Where is the love? There is none. Michael was just a cash-cow for his father. Please stop showing him and Al Sharpton who definitely has an agenda. HE was not Michael’s friend…..he’s Joe’s boy.
May Michael’s children and his family find peace in the fact that people like Joe and Al can no longer try to use and take advantage of Michael. I’ll will pray for them all….they’re going to need it in the days ahead.

The Bet Awards show was good , but could’ve been better, Beyonce looked good and sang good as usual , I didn’t understand the song . New Edition was influenced by the Jackson 5 . however their vocals leave much to be desired, they did not sound good at all , But BBD’s performance was on point? Jamie and Ne-yo sang good too and quite often. Michael Was a talented dancer , I thought someone would showcase that – such as Ciara, but she struggled with a ballad? Tyrese, Jg and Trey Songs gave a excellent (tribute) performance to the O’ jays- also let’s remember Joe Jackson is Michael’s dad – how he lived his life , how he treated his family will be between him and God, not us….oh yeah Mase needs to quit while he’s ahead.

I think Mase should fellow his heart and select the most ethical, logical, cost effective, and positive path available for him which will allow him to maintain the righteous influence to the rap game.

I believe that Mase was very influencial while he was in the rap game, I do believe that God did call him to higher grounds and had greater plans for his life than rap for life…I do believe that Mase is blessed to rap, but not in the secular world anymore…God will not be mocked…God pulled Mase out and said preach the word…He was blessed with the skills and knowledge to rap and it can still be used but I beieve in a more effective way, their are many gospel rappers…for example the da truth and many more…it is very important for us to know that once you have been called out and set apart, your life has been changed in everyway…I believe that Mase will never be seen as “Mase” again…I new annointing has been placed on his life and no matter what he will have to walk in it…He is blessed and highly favored of God and special to God…Be not conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of your mind…Not preaching just stating that once your life has been changed it’s changed forever…Mase be blessed and walk in that blessing that God has given you…reach souls in every way…he knows what needs to be done….
As for the BET awards…I believe it wasn’t bad…RIP MJ…

The BET awards was put together quite well but I have to agree where was the tribute to Michael Jackson. And Mase will NEVER be relevant not even if he joined the Obama administration.
Mase coming back? I truly believe that in order for him to regain his throne is if he associate himself with whomever is making the most hits noise right now. I love diddy but I wouldn’t say going back to badboy is the best move right now,even though badboy needs a superstar right now but if it didn’t work out for the best the 1st for whatever reason then going back wouldn’t be a very smart decision. Or he can do like other people and feature on other people songs just to heat the engine,and then take a test drive and get a hit single before he buy the car and sign a contract. (If u know what I mean). Anyway, I was and still am a Mase fan so I wish him the best of luck and I pray that this time around he really brings back what the game has been missing. There’s no comparison with Mase and Drake. Even though he’s been in & out, Mase has been in the game for a while, self explanatory!
God or Hip Hop….The Lord said, he that putteth his hand to the plow and looketh BACK is not fit for the KINGDOM….Praying that you will make the right decision, its not to late. Come back the Lord. Hip hop is temporary…the KINGDOM of God is FOREVER. Bless You Mase
