Usher Making A Return, But Is It Tooooo Late?
November 9th, 2008
Usher already making a return???? Yes He Is…….
I’m assuming Mr. Raymond has officially received the memo that Here I Stand just wasn’t the Usher we were all used to. Not to say HIS was a flop(creatively it wasn’t, number wise it might have been), but Confessions made HIS look like an under produced mixtape, to say the least.
Not only that, but it seems like with this new tour he’s embarking on, he’s attemtpting to regain the ambiance that made every female fall in love with him in the first place. It’s not that we find his marriage life boring, but if we wanted to hear about marital bliss…..matter fact, yes we do, we find it insanely boring (sorry, dude).
With a new project hitting retail at the top of ‘09, Usher might be able to reclaim that top R&B slot since it’s pretty vacant right now. And to top it off, he’s snatching R&B’s other top gunner, Neyo, to “potentially” construct the new set. “Neyo is actually potentially gonna be a part of this project,” he revealed. “On the last one we didn’t work together until the very end — hopefully we are gonna try and get together early”, Usher revealed to MTV.com
Neyo, who was probably the only one too keep it funky about how much HIS tanked, had this to say about the married singer and his new project, “Well, I was one of the first people to tell Usher, personally, that I didn’t think he was focused on the album … on Here I Stand,” Ne-Yo explained. “I don’t think his focus was in the right place. And I’m a dude, and that’s my personal opinion and I’m entitled to it, and he respected that I kept it real with him about that. I think that this time around … It’s not so much that I think Here I Stand was a bad record, it just wasn’t the Usher that we remembered. I mean, that joint [Confessions] right there went 10-15 million worldwide, so it was going to be difficult to come back from that anyway. So I just think he’s gotta get back to what he knows, which is to get out there and make ‘em dance — entertain them at the end of the day.
Is it toooo late for Usher to regain that “SEXY TIME” momentum or is R&B so boring, the consumer has no choice??? Who knows, but what I can proivde you with is a new Usher track rumored to be produced by T-Pain and his interview with Angie Martinez on Hot 97 where he addresses the provocative “Trading Places” clip, his wife’s reactions and his rapidly growing family.

I think that this album tanked because when it came to ENTERTAINMENT, he didn’t step it up. “Love In This Club” was pretty cool and the remix did great but after that…we were waiting on something else. Moving Mountains was AIGHT and it was creative, but it just didn’t hit that “spot” that the fanbase was searching for, ya know?? That type of song isnt’ the song you can play anyday. You have to be specifically looking to hear that song to care for it…to a degree anyway. And also, I think the MAIN turning point was when Usher performed @ the BET Awards. Everybody was expecting him to tear the floor up but all he did was scuff it a little bit. His performance wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t “over the top” like an opening show should be. He just gave us “good” but not “great” and with the way that Confessions did, we needed that “great” from him. I was expecting him to pull Lil’Wayne and Beyonce up there for the remix, but instead, he just danced and did a few notes but that was it. It was like “what?”. That’s when the fans {I think} started redirecting their focus. I feel like w/ Here I Stand, he had the ball—but he dropped it and the momentum isn’t as high as it could have been.
We still love you Usher—but you just need to step it up and try again.

Usher i think you have done a great.Only thing i saw is that the videos didn’t fit to the words.Get with NE-YO and his people they have a good vision. But above all GOD bless be save.
I think the album sucks. I was looking for something along the lines of ‘Confessions’. I think he waited too long to come back.

Usher u know your songs are the best and u keepthat songs forever!
I love everything about usher and his music but this last album 4 me didn’t give me that feeling u get when u know ur gonna hear some good music. It seems 2 me that he has lost his touch like marriage and kids made him lose his touch. Need 2 get it 2gether Mr.Raymond
It’s a tragedy to see Usher fail. I never thought in a million years he would fail. Out of every veteran artist Usher happened to be always improving. The music proves that he is going to win tremendous awards, vice versa. Everytime I hear anything on the radio all I hear is crappy music there is no music that stands out. Without Usher, Music is Dead! As for Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Mario, Omarion, they will never reach the all time Confessions peak Which Usher has done for any Rnb Artist in his decade. They will never win over 100 awards, sell tremendous # of records, be legends like him, deliver 8-11 #1 hits on billboard ,vice versa and 5-7 #1 songs on the mainstream charts all over the world. That is what Usher has done not them! Usher did his thang from My way, 8701 and Confessions. Usher is not done for ,he will come back and show us his true potential like what he showed from 1997-2006! This is not the end for him at all. Usher U will show these Rnb Swagger jackers who is boss in a year or less from now.
I personally think people should stop beating up on this guy for having a life.
I mean we all fall in love, have children, and some of us are lucky enough to find someone who’s willing to take it to that other level of trust and understanding.I have every single album Usher has ever put out,and they are all wonderful. You can’t call yourself a fan if you’re not willing to stick by these artist during difficult times. He’s had alot on his plate. He’s delt with the passing of his father, issues with his mom,and last but not least,he’s a daddy and a husband now,so yes, things change.I hate to sound like I’m preaching but,if you are truly a fan,be a fan.During both good and bad times. Not just for good times only.Ya Digg!
I am looking for usher raymond. I have been looking for him since he said just call him the mack cause he got it like that. But now I want to trade places with him
