VIDEO: American Music Award Performances Starring Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston & More

To be honest, I stopped paying attention after Janet Jackson slid across the stage in her brown Ugg Boots.Last night ABC played host to the 39th Annual American Music Awards out in The City of Angels (Los Angeles people, keep up). The stars aligned at the Staples Center to pat each other on the back for their 2009 musical accomplishments.
Some tumbled (Jennifer Lopez during her performance), some cracked jokes at their cohorts because their first week sales sucked (Jay-Z and his signature laugh during his acceptance speech), and some pre-recorded their performances for undisclosed reasons.
In total, I guess the show was a success. There were some things that puzzled me, but since I was sipping several glasses of wine, I really had no intentions on truly figuring them out. So, if you just happen to miss last nights ceremony, no worries, here are some of the better performances from the show. Enjoy

How could MYA NOT WIN on Dancing With The Stars??!! Why not CHANGE THE SHOW’S NAME to: “America’s Favourite Dancing-Star?” THAT would EXACTLY define the pathetic nonsense that this once quite interesting, and entertaining Dance Show is quickly turning into.
C’mon, people; BE HONEST WITH YOURSELVES: when YOU go anywhere to watch a DANCER, do you expect MEDIOCRITY? LOUSY RHYTHM? FUMBLES ‘N FOUL-UPS? Hell no!!!
WHY therefore, does ABC NETWORK expect viewers, especially GLOBAL VIEWERS, to CONTINUE TO TUNE-IN to see EXCELLENT CONTESTANT-PERFORMANCES…then be STUNNED and LET-DOWN by a VIEWER-SELECTED “WINNER” who though FAVORED-BY-AUDIENCES, was not exactly FAVORED-BY-THE-GODS-OF-DANCE!!
Another IRKSOME ELEMENT, is the tossing-in of those BORING OL’ SOUTHERN DANCES like the Charleston and the Lindy-Hop of some such nonsense. Live with it or Leave it Alone: LATIN DANCES, AFRICAN DANCES are exciting and thrilling to watch. It makes NO SENSE just throwing in a few Yankee clod-hopping, just to be “PATRIOTIC!” There is NO PATRIOTISM WHEN IT COMES TO TRUE TALENT: which ever country you come from, you either GOT IT, or you AIN’T!!! Period.
Congrats, MYA…for ADDING some degree of NATURAL TALENT …AND THEREFORE VIEWER-INTEREST to an otherwise BLAND, BORING SHOW. Hey! You should make them PAY you, girl, for KEEPING VIEWERS FINGERS AWAY FROM THE REMOTE, when the other “American Favorites” were PLAYING-AT-DANCE!
Ummm…WHO is the GREATEST DANCER THAT – WILL – EVER LIVE, again? Oh, right: MICHAEL JACKSON…lest any of us forget. So repeat after me, Yankees: NATURAL DANCING TALENT IS A GENETIC GIFT….YOU DON’T GET IT BY VOTING!!!
i would like to say we look on tv everyday and can say that black people have come a long way and it’s good to see how succusful my black people are and how good they do there performances we was born with talent and no i mean no can take that way raise black people and be proud you derserve it and keep shineing for the world to see
