VIDEO: Beyonce- Diva

December 23rd, 2008

Beyonce+Sasha Fierce= Diva! Is it me, or does “Diva” resemble “Single Ladies”, but in a more grimy setting? Either way, anytime I get to see Beyonce blow up cars, dance between long linked chains with two voluptuous tender ronni’s by her side, the world is an extremely better place for me…honestly, it is.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed every second of the clip, me and some of my blogging cohorts were still left unsatisfied. Now don’t get me wrong, I love me some Beyonce, but I was expecting something completely different. Dancing/walking/strutting in back alley’s isn’t as interesting as it used to be.

What if they showed Beyonce waking up for a full day of work, you know, we follow her from picking out her clothes in the morning, to shooting a video, then rehearsing for a movie, then conducting a board meeting for her clothing line in which right after, she hits the stage for a dope performance showing the true meaning of a “Diva”? Tell me that ish wouldn’t be a sincerely dope experience? Maybe I should be a video director, hmmmmmm??

Anyway, check out Beyonce’s new video, below!

Sincerely

Low

OKay since the song itself is incredibly HOT I’m not gon go too hard on her. But please Bee I kno u can do better than that. Yeah you look stamp hot, the concept isn’t too crappy, but it does look A LOT like “Single Ladies” which isn’t such a good thing, cuz we been waiting for so long for the video to come out, I was expecting more, not more but sum different u kno. But song’s the sh*t like you are, so it is all good. But I was picturing some kinda gangsta video with more ppl in it, I mean not just Bee & her two miniself

The ignorant could never begin to understand the symbolism this video possesses. In an industry full of carbon copies and talentless performers, Beyonce differentiates herself. The mannequin parts in the back of the trunk and the gold statues, for me, represented those “fake divas”; those artists who lack the swagger, talent, and true originality. We all know who those women are, so there is no need to point them out. The blowing up of the car with the faux-divas in the back clearly meant that she finds no competition in the game. When you are someone who has the respect and the green light from legends such as Prince, Etta James, Patti Labelle, and Tina Turner, you know you must be doing something correct. She’s not called “Queen B” for nothing. This video had so much swagger and so much attitude, I was almost shocked at how amazingly she pulled this video off. Another great one for the icon known as Beyonce.

Personally I liked the video. I haven’t seen a video by Beyonce’ that I didn’t like. I don’t think that everything should have to do with the video. It’s more about the words of the song to me. Beyonce’ always speaks real talk. She tells life from the perspective of a wl, but she also speaks to the fellas.

I don’t understand why so many people expect so much out of Beyonce and other artist. They are human just like us. Stop putting them on a pedestal. You either like their songs, videos, movies, etc. or you don’t. But if you don’t like it , it doesn’t mean you are a hater. It means you are expressing what you like or don’t like. There are so many artist out there that don’t get the recognition popular artist get so instead of putting Beyonce and others down, why don’t you support the ones who are not popular yet. bet.com are you listening?

ok now im really not a beyonce fan but i am feeling the song and kind of feeling the video, but let me clarify something Beyonce is not the diva, no you can not compare her to keisha because its not B on another level keisha is on a different level, she is a ok singer but she is no way a better singer than Keisha Cole, no way close to being a Jeniffer Hudson, why do someone has to be a hater because he/she doesnt agree with the opinions of others, yes her music is selling, but to what age group(13-22) maybe older, come on she is a great entertainer thats it!!! thats real talk….

I don’t understand the new comparison between Keyshia Cole and Beyonce, I love them both Keyshia does have a powerful voice but I don’t think she appeals to all races she is more urban (not that there is nothing wrong with that) everyone has their style but some can also switch it up, like Beyonce she has fans all around the world Keyshia is more based in the U.S, I also think ppl seem to forget Beyonce’s vocal ability she also has a powerful voice but she is more known for her upbeat songs which don’t always need strong vocals. I think when I first heard Diva i was expecting the video to be crazy but that’s not what we got, I love that song regardless. Love Keyshia and Beyonce

SORRY BUT THIS SONG IS WACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE BEY, BUT I DONT LIKE THE SONG, BUT THE VIDEO WAS GOOD, SHE WAS KILLIN’ THEM DANCE MOVES AND WHEN SHE “TRIED” TO DO THE MATRIX I WAS LIKE WHAT! WE ALL KNOW THE MATRIX IS CIARA’S SIGNATURE MOVE. I GIVE BEY PROPS FOR TRYING, BUT NO ONE CAN DO THE MATRIX LIKE CIARA. EVERYONE, BEYONCE’ AND CIARA ARE MULTI-TALENTED! STOP SAYING THAT ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER, JUST ENJOY THEM WHILE YOU CAN! I ENJOY BOTH OF THEM, THEY WILL BE HERE FOR YEARS TO COME!

MAKEAL Said on

JUST……..WACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been waiting on this video and I must say that it sucks. No I’m not a hater. I love B more than anybody but seriously the concept of the video does not match the song…Still the number 1 fan!!!!!!!!!!!!
