Hello Everyone,
Torrence asked me to blog a little bit about my experience and journey with Sunday Best..Wanna hear it? Here we go!!!
Sunday Best has been a life changing experience. It truly has helped me with my walk with God. From the time I stood in that long line in the freeeezing cold to audition, receiving the call back and actually leaving DC to go to ATL for the taping has all been exciting and reassuring that God keeps his promises!!!!!
Each moment, with everyday felt like I was living out a dream. I could not believe I had actually made it! Seriously…
Being there with the contestants was awesome! We all clicked instantly. I remember arriving in Atlanta waiting to go to the hotel to meet the rest of the crew!!! I was so anxious to meet and greet the Top 20 contestants. When we all got settled in it was just wonderful!!! 20 different personalities but we shared one commonality and that was we all loved God. We were ready to do what we were sent there to do… I know it was a competition; however it felt like a family reunion. You know how you go to a family function and you meet and get to know your family you’ve never met before? That’s what it felt like… It was real cool.
It was truly amazing how we all worked well together without any conflicts, confusion or jealousy. I can remember being at the rehearsal studio and if someone was a bit unsure about their song, one of us would step in to try and help that person. It was just a sincere, loving, and great group of people. I had a ball being with them.. We had so many great moments. I wish I could sit here and tell you a little bit about each individual but it would take a while. Just know that I love every last one of them. I knew we were there for a competition and some people had to go at their given time but I didn’t want none of them to leave. We established real love and friendship!!!! I love you guys!!!
While I was there I had some moments that has played over and over in my mind. The most memorable moment is when Jessica and I was just hanging out, chillin’, chatting and stuff.. You know just some good ole’ girl talk. We started talking about the things we had gone through in life and what we wanted to change in our lives. It began to seem like we were telling the same story.. How Ironic. Our Life experiences were similar!!! We were like Wow!!!! This is crazy! So, after we shedded a few tears and sucked things up! lol She turned to me and said “Y’Anna WE’RE NOT GOING HOME!” She said it with such conviction. I said it back to her “Jessica WE’RE NOT GOING HOME!” God gave us this opportunity and we are here for a reason.. Right then I knew after we both spoke those words… We were not GOING HOME!!! I trusted that word throughout the competition. Even when times got a bit rough we would somehow find one another and declare those same words ..THE WORD SAYS SPEAK THOSE THING THAT ARE NOT AS THOUGH THEY WERE!!! And we did! I thank God!!! What U speak definitely is powerful!!! Jessica Reedy and Y’Anna Crawley Sunday Best Finalist!!! Thanks Jessy for those words of encouragement!!! Love ya hun.
Now I can not forget to Thank some of the people who has done a tremendous job of being there and helping us through this thang!!!

Everytime you SANG I would cheese at the television and then I would cry because you put the STANK on it!!!! I won’t speak about the Grandma Song…. it literally sends chills up my spine! Make sure you record that on your CD, a capella as an intro and outro, oh when you hit it at the end with Kirk…. the bomb!!!!!!! I am so very proud of you and I was rooting for you from the beginning, I knew you had it from your first song. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BOYS, I know they are proud of you!
Y’anna,Y’anna, Y’anna!! You are so blessed and annointed. I knew from the moment I heard you sing that you were Sunday’s Best.. I unfortunantly was unable to watch the last episode due to me having to go to work but you better know it was recorded and I can’t wait to see it when I get home..I stayed on the phone with my kids until I knew who won and I screamed as if I knew you personally. I loved all you guys but there was just something about Y’anna that made my heart flutter. If anything was dead, you brought it back to life..God has put himself in you to deliver a word of praise.. Continue to keep THE LORD FIRST honey for this is only the beginning..Never forget where you come. Always remember to stay humble and obedient. For what the Lord giveth, He also taketh away!!!
