Sup folks, this one is special!
So as I’m sure most of you know, one of gospel music’s vocal ARCHITECTS (she helped create, originate and perfect the “melismatic” vocal style that so many artists gospel and mainstream mimic today), Karen Clark-Sheard is releasing her new solo CD,”All In One” on April 6th. (My music professors will be proud to know I used melismatic correctly. See I was paying attention, ha!)
As Karen Clark-Sheard is probably one of my favorite singers on earth, I decided I wanted to do something a little special for this release. A lot of times, we in the music business get privy to CD’s wayyyy before they come out and I sometimes rub it in, which isn’t so nice. (hehehe) Well, this time Karen and the folks at HER record label, Karew Records, let me share!!!
So, everyday up until the release of the album, I will let you hear a new song from the new album, “All in One!” So I’m just gonna stop talking now and get right to the first track.

Iam KCS’ biggest fan!!!!! I love her and I cant wait untill her album drops!!! She is my all time favorite!
I like the “Prayed Up” song b/c it sounds original and has kind of a neo-soul vibe, however, I am not too fond of the song “He Knows” b/c it sounds as if it is going in a more r&b direction with the auto-tuning and absence of the Lord’s name throughout the song. I love the Clark Sisters and have been listening to all their albums for years and this doesn’t sound like anything I’m used to hearing coming from them. I understand that gospel music nowadays has to be altered to the times and generation we now live in, but I just don’t think the auto-tuning was necessary b/c anyone who has followed these sisters throughout the years know that these women can sing and have beautiful voices that they’ve trully been blessed with to sing for the glory of God. May God bless her album to go platinum!!!
I like the song. I’m not a fan of this autotune usage. It is way to much, especially when Karen and dorinda are sining together. Other than that it is a beautiful song.
As always!!!!! Something innovative,inspiring, imcomparable,off da charts. Just when I thought Karen couldn’t take it any higher…..she floored me again:) Cannot wait to get her CD and blast it everywhere I go.
