VIDEO: Sunday Best 3 Auditions Recap
Published by Torrence Glenn on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 12:15 pm.Sup folks. It’s been a busy couple of weeks as we gear up for the premiere of Sunday Best 3!
The BET.com Digital VIP Room presented by the folks at Ford was a beast. We went to Detroit, New Orleans and Philadelphia looking for the gospel’s next star. And let me just say, it was something…. else. There were some GREAT singers, some good singers and some “special” singers. But we had a great time!
Well, I wanted to give you a recap and preview of what happened in the Digital VIP room. I kept noticing that people kept making the same 5 mistakes when they auditioned or when they sing in general, so I decided to give a few pointers to those of you who think you may want to audition next year, or for those who make it onto the show and have to sing week to week. Check out the video below. My guest judges in Detroit were Ledisi, Jessica Reedy, and Camille Betton and in New Orleans, the fabulous Lecresia Campbell held it down with me. You’ll have to check back to see my guest judges were in Philadelphia. They’ll be in the next video.
Also, i want to give a HUGE shout out to the folks at SABIT NYC for hooking up my gear for the 3 cities. Every time I walked on set, folks kept asking where’d my jacket come from or who made my jeans, etc. Well that’s who you need to hit up!!!
Enjoy!

For those that continued singing after you said time, they thought you were “in the spirit” giving God a wave of praise! LOL!

You know when I auditioned, I was the only person in the room that sang three songs, what does that mean…………….
Ok Mr. Torrence I am the young lady you featured on your audition tips about closing my eyes. I auditioned in Detroit first and didn’t make it. I took your advance about closing my eyes but I cant help but realize when I went to the Philly auditions mostly everyone closed their eyes while they were singing. And they still made it thro but anyways the Philly auditions were a mess after I made it through the 2nd round on our way walking to audition for Tina, Donny and Kym they put us in front of another panel of judges and called it the fire ball round. So while everyone had two auditions before seeing Tina, Donny, and Kym we had three auditions. I talked to the producer of the show he said he apologize they had to many people to audition and basicly they were just cutting people who could really sing. Long story short I got cut for no reason. So thanks for those tips but no thanks. I don’t think I would ever audition again. Sundays Best make sure your judges are well rested before auditioning and don’t try to cram everything in one day. Its unfair when people wait all day to be auditioned and when you get their the judges are tired and speechless. I am a great singer I should have been on Sundays Best.
I am a member of Providence MB Church in Greenwood, Ms. One of the most talented young ladies that brings the church down every sunday and is asked to sing a other surrounding churches, was not selected and we as a church and community want to know why! Her name is Tiffany Brown. We got the empression that it had something to do with where you lived we guess Greenwood,Ms was not a large enough city and would not draw the attention for your show. We are deeply hurt that the world will not at least get a chance to hear what brings tears to our eyes every sunday.
Ok I am the girl who wrote the words on my hand…..I knew they were going to get me for that one LOL……
