EXCLUSIVE: Listen Up! – Karen Clark Sheard “Hold On”

Just one more day until the release of Karen Clark-Sheard’s new CD, “All In One.”

Tomorrow is the day you get to get the CD in your hands, but I’ve still got 2 more tracks for you to hear exclusively! Today’s track is “Hold On.” This may actually be my favorite one… It’s not Karen’s typical style, but I love the way she sounds on it. It’s got a tradition bend to it (the hook especially), even though the music itself is rather contemporary. I kind of dig the organic and raw treatment of the background parts. I know she recorded this entire album in the studio, but it has a live quality that I love.  Sometimes a vocal that’s too perfect is worse than one that’s just bad.
