EXCLUSIVE (Had To Share): “Expect The Great” – Jonathan Nelson & Purpose

Published by Torrence Glenn on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 4:47 pm.

Sup folks… From the looks of it, it’s going to be a really good summer for music, especially once you and your choir, praise team or group get a hold of this song! Jonathan Nelson & Purpose are finally back with a follow up to “My Name Is Victory.”

The first single from the new CD is a BANGER! Hear Me? Jonathan has made a name for himself for not only being a great singer and worship leader, but he writes great choir material. You probably are family with “My Praise Is My Weapon” or the Stellar Award winning “Healed.” (Whooooooooa Iiiiiiiii am HEALLLLED!)  Both songs became church and community choir staples the minute they hit the radio and he’s done it AGAIN! This song rocks so hard in a way some choirs/groups are afraid to these days. It’s catchy and just complicated enough to let your ears have some fun with it. (Check out the way chord when they sing “the blessing is on you.”) I also love the message of the song. Ever since I heard the song the first time (sorry, I had to hold out on you guys for a few weeks), I’ve been saying “Expect The Great” to myself whenever I feel like something’s not going right. You will too! This song should be hitting your local gospel stations any day now, but I wanted to give you a preview now!

Here we go again…Jonathan has put out another hit. He’s taking after great writers and choirs like Hezekiah Walker….the reason Hezekiah was so successful is because he wrote songs that any church choir can rock on Sunday morning’s with ease. Jonathan has learned that formula…He’s representing our hometown B-more real well…
