You sir, are a living testimony to what God can do for all of us. You and LeAndria are both winners and so are the millions of hearts you touched during the Sunday Best season 3.

Sis. Ann, your comments are little misguided. It was clear there would be one winner and no 2nd place prize. The Elder won tremendous recognition, praise and respect throughout the season. I’m sure there is much in store for him despite the fact he did not ‘win’. As for the manner of dress, I am pretty sure this show had a stylist who chose the clothes worn by all of the contestants. How silly to reference Ms. Johnson’s clothing. It is good to watch what your own child wears but if she is wearing pants I submit to you that the Word says that woman should not wear anything pertaining to a man. . . if you want to be technical. Finally age discrimination exists and it is not right. But in this instance, I believe his age helped to propel the Elder further in the competiton. I’m just saying!

@Ann…Elder got a cash prize for being the runner up,and Yolanda promised to get a project done with him.

Sis Stacy, thank you for your comment, but at what point was it clear that there would be no 2nd place prize? As per Meee”s following comment some of us heard differently.
I don’t want to make a big deal about Leandria’s clothing. My point was, everyone has an opinion. That’s why thank God ,there are rules and guidlines.
How you interpret scripture may be different than someone else. No matter how “Silly” it sounds to you, it’s still my opinon. And yes, I do want to be technical because many of the other comments I have read were just as techical.
In regards to Elder Mclendon’s age, indeed many of the comments made were discriminatory and in no way should you or anyone else attempt to soften their blow just because someone overcame their venom.

You are a fantasic singer,and when you perform I see how you feel but the Lord will bless you in every step of the way just give him the praise. Cause when praises go up blessings come down. In to Mr.Elder Goldwire McLendon I just love when you sing, and dance!! You just make me happy in the inside in make me wish that i was actually there with you so i can dance,and sing with you. Believe me when I tell you that you will continue to be a blessing to me because I carry you in my heart and I also have each episode recorded in my DVR and I watch it everyday. When we are in a earthly contest, there is mostly only one first prize winner. We knew both person could not win and they were aware of that before it even got to the final two. The young lady was a great singer as well. I was in Elder Goldwire McLendon ’s corner and still in his corner because I believe God has something great in store for him. There is no need to hate upon the young lady. Give God the praise for both. Even thought both did not win first place earthly, I believe both won spiritually. That is what really count. So instead of hating, love!. If you have not given your life to God, make Elder McLendon happy by doing so. May God continue to look down upon you and be able to say “Well done!”

Elder when you sung you touch my heart. I would come from church to go back to church. I watched the way you let God used you. You know in your heart that GOD is so pleased because you shared you true love for GOD to millions and I was truely blessed. Keep singing for GOD and touching peoples hearts. When you sing, you can see the love that you have for GOD and know without a doubt that GOD has truely brought you through something, continue to sing and tell your story through song and praise. I was blessed each week by Elder McClendon and Ms LeAndria Johnson. They were both sincere and annointed. The annointing could be felt each time they took the stage. No matter how great a person can sing, it’s the annointing that break yokes. As far as I’m concerned, they both are winners and each should have received the SAME prizes. Elder McClendon because it’s the older ones who show the younger ones the way. Ms Johnson because she’s a prime example of a younger person taking the advice of her elders(seniors) and walking it out in her life. God bless them both!!!!!!
