I REALLY wish this was going to be on TV he was a gospel great and it should be on every channel just like Michael Jackson’s. It sad how gospel artists don’t get the same respect . So sorry for the Hawkin’s families loss God be with you in your time of sorrow
I truly love all of Walter Hawkins music. I usually have my own concert/tribute
every time I feel I need to be uplifted. I have the Love Alive5/25th Anniversary
DVD. I love the songs Mavelous, God Is Standing By, and especially Thank You where James Moore just take the song and make his own.
So now God Is Standing By to welcome in another Marvelous voice/director to His Heavenly Choir, and we say Thank You Walter Hawkins for the beautiful music you left to inspire, encourage, uplift and minister to us.
To the family I say wipe your tears away for his living was not in vain, and remember sorrow only endures for a night and joy will come in the morning.

I am truly a great supporter of Bishop Walter Hawkins. I made sure my music collection included all his music. From the time I was a teenager growing up in Pennsylvania, I remember all the times when Bishop, Edwin and Daniel would come to our local church and conduct music workshops. Those memories are forever with me. Bishop Hawkins was a great anointed Man of God. His songs touched the very soul of so many of us. They are songs for all generations and I believe God planned it this way. I was only 13 when I was singing on the front row while participating in an adult music workshop conducted by the brothers. Not one time did Bishop or Edwin treat us as kids. They taught us vocal techniques, decorum, and gospel musicology. Their approach was awesome and patient. I knew at that time, God had a plan for me in Music Ministry. Those encounters laid the foundation for my personal music ministry and I’ll forever be grateful to Bishop Walter Hawkins. Bishop will be greatly missed but never forgotten. I am going to continue to include his music in my song selections. When he wrote, I’m Going Away, he knew one day that his journey on earth would someday come to an end. Rest in the Arms of Jesus Bishop and We’ll See You Again. Love You and Thank you for all you’ve done for me.
I am praying for the family, I am so sad I wasnt able to attend. But the Lord Jesus Christ knows my heart and also know i love the Hawkins Family with all of my heart. I just couldnt do the line thing. I get sick when in a crowd. But i pray that all is well with his soul. I wish that people would and will act like Christians at all time. I hope for Love Peace and Joy. I know what Jamie is going through I lost my dad in 1991 and it a empty thing to lose a parent. But God is able.
Priase the Lord for Brother Bishop Walter Hawkins. I thank God for the annointing that the Hawkins Family have. Brother Hawkins I will see you again in our Father’s house.
For waking me up this morning,
For letting me see a brand new dawning,
Though I made plans for this day,
Death could have come during the night and took me away,
But for this I Love You, Lord I Love You, I Love You with all my heart, and with all my soul, Lord I Love You, I really, really, really love you, I Love You with all my heart, and with all my soul.
Please hold the Hawkins Family, the Love Center Family and friends up in prayer as we celebrate the life of a great man of God, our Pastor Bishop Walter L. Hawkins.
He touched the lives of many with such impact; that we have all been changed. The goodness and grace of GOD will continue to shine through us because of his Ministry and Music. He is loved by many and will be missed.
Your work has been done; Rest with GOD Bishop Walter L. Hawkins
I love your music from the beginning in to eternity. You are the special gift!
Say hello to my mother Ramogene. You have blessed me in so many ways.
Thank you God for your life and legacy. with love Sista Monica
My God! What a hurt and at the same time, God is in control. You have inspired so many artists. Those who have made the charts today must confess that Gospel Giants such as Bishop Walter L. Hawkins was behind the unction to begin a music career. There is nothing else that we can say to the Bishop, but there is much we can say about him. To his family, his church family, and to his close friends, we pray for your strength. I will not tell you not to cry. You have a reason to cry. I will encourage you by saying if you live what he has imparted into you, you shall be together again. We at Victory First Presbyterian Deliverance Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey pray consistently for you.
The James Family would like to send their condolescences to the Hawkins Family, and to the many family and friends who knew and loved Bishop Walter Hawkins. May God give you strength in this time of need. We have grown up on this music since the 1960s. We love it and we will continue to lift you up in prayer. Bishop Walter Hawkins left a great legacy. He touched so many lives great and small that will have a lasting impact forever. We will miss you and your memory will forever live on in your family and friends.

To the Hawkins Family & Love Center Church & Love Fellowship Music and Arts: On bahalf of former Pittsburgh Chapter of the Music and Arts Fellowship. We love and will truly miss Bishop Walter Hawkins. He’s planted so much in all of our lives. He is truly rejoicing with his Creator in Glory! We will miss him, but to be absent in the physical is to be present with God. You have our condolences and our prayers. God Bless you
His music is timeless, and his name shall be etched in our hearts forever! Such a “Marvelous” thing God did by sharing a Walter Hawkins with us. Though I’ve never met him, yet his music has inspired me and guided me in countless situations and encouraged me in some of the lonliest times of my life. Who are we to question God? We are to trust him even in death and know that “It’s right and good” for our brother, father, pastor and friend has “Gone up yonder” to be with the Lord. May God continue to bless and keep the Hawkins family during this your time of bereavement, but know this; earth has no sorrows that heaven cannot heal and that you will see Walter again, and what a “Happy Day” that will be. “Thank You” Bishop for all you’ve done for gospel music!!! braq

I’m so sad that the world has lost the most dynamic, explosive, powerful gospel male singer ever. But what really upsets me is that when someone dear to the world, especially the black community, can not even get the respect to be acknowledged on the “so called main curcuit TV” It’s sad, I can’t even see the service,or the tribute,or anything,it hurts my heart to feel this way.I love the Hawkins family and I just wanted to be a part of the homegoing service.Well! I don’t mean to complain, but right now I’m sad cause I can’t get there to witness a beautiful event. It won’t stop my prayers for the family,or my personal farewell blessings for Bishop Walter Hawkins.GOD BLESS YOU ALL! stay close to JESUS CHRIST cause we all have go down this road one day ,so we got to get our house in order.AMEN!
