Hello folks, wanted to give you an update on the season finale of SUNDAY BEST 4. The finale episode scheduled to air on this Sunday, September 4 at 8:00 p.m. will now air on Sunday September 11. Here’s why. During Episode 9, an incorrect voting phone number was given for one of the contestants and, as you know, there were significant power outages along the East Coast. That said, we decided it would be best to re-air last week’s episode with the correct information and extend the voting process. Voting will continue online and via text but if you voted by phone you will have to do it again beginning on September 4 at 9:00 p.m. Votes casts by phone during the period of August 29–August 31 will not be counted.

Our two finalists worked extremely hard during the season and we want to ensure they both have a fair shot in the competition. Unfortunately, these things happen sometimes but we want to make sure the results of the show are correct as the futures of two young ladies are riding on your votes. Thanks for understanding and we appreciate your continued support. So tune in on September 4 at 9pm and VOTE!

The Season 4 Finale was an inspiration to me and millions around the country. I felt the annointing on LeAndria Johnson through the TV. The Lord put her in the right place at the right time for her to receive her breakthrough. The folks at BET, the host and judges are in place to be her angels don’t disregard your obligation. She is a believer, don’t do anything to jeopardize that again. She left her powerful prayer and testimony on your stage Sunday evening. Embrace her, help her and nurture her. There are many talented, but not many talented are REAL. Please don’t be playing with the Lord’s people. Sunday Best has to live up to its name in action and deed as well as providing a quality gospel show. Kirk Franklin mentioned a Sunday Best concert. I will be in line to get my tickets when you come to Philly just let me know the date. You are definitely a vehicle for the Lord to make his presence known through gospel music in a new way and I truly appreciate that. Thank you and “Congratulations” to Amber Bullock and Andrea Helms. I look forward to purchasing the album with the song “Forward” on it when it becomes available. I have watched Sunday Best since the beginning there have been many wonderful moments when the spirit was present. The Holy Ghost came to TV land via LeAndria on the centennial anniversary of Mahalia Jackson. I was just listening to Mahalia Jackson’s “How I Got Over” earlier in the day, the original , Aretha Franklin and Vickie Winans versions too. I didn’t know why I was so moved by that song until you said it was Mahalia’s 100th birthday and LeAndria sang it to the utmost along with the other Sunday Best winners.
May your blessings continue!

I feel that the wrong decision was made, but I also know that Andrea will be successful with her singing career. I feel that Amber voice sounds like Kim Burrell and we already have a Kim Burrell. I do not think I will be watching next year. Something just doesn’t seem right to me. That’s my OPINION!!!

very disappointed Said on

I want to start out by saying congratulations on both contestants, but my choice (and I did vote) was Andrea Helms, she should have won and I believe she did, that’s why you all said it had to be done over. They both can sing but the annoiting destroys the yolk and First Lady Helms has the annoiting, Andrea had the annointing thru out the whole entire show, Amber had 1 which was last week when the judges said this is what we been waiting for(and she won off of that) Sunday Best has to improve, what happened to the confetti, what happen to giving the girls their vehicles. I still say Season I was the best, it was really a live show, the rest of the seasons were fake and not live as stated!
I love the show and will continue to watch, but season 5 needs to get better better.

Blessings to everyone!

I too had some very strong opinions about last nights results, but I just realized something….Andrea’s gift and anointing cannot be defined by a contest. DOnnie and Shirley both said it: God will touch the whole WORLD through Andrea’s gift. Let’s rejoice that the anointing God has placed on her is not limited just to this contest, but it will excel far above any human made contest that we could ever come up with, and the fruit that she will reap will be eternal. I pray that the Lord will have his way in Amber’s life as well as her daughter’s,and that He will move in her life like never before so that she can serve Him like never before! Let’s unite at the BODY OF CHRIST and advance His Kingdom, not our hurts or disappointments. In the end, ONLY what’s done for Christ will stand….

Amber should of won. Andrea can not beat amber singing. It is not about color but amber was the better singer most black people can sing better than white people that’s just how it is. The white culture need to accept that. Andrea should not been in the final two,the final two should of been Amber and Michael. Michael Pugh got cheated he should not of went home. Michael Pugh can beat Andrea singing. I do not like the judges I will not watch this show no more. The judges cheated Michael for Andrea. Erica, Tina and Donnie are uncle tom’s they are white folks niggers. They only wanted Andrea to win so more whites can start auditioning and coming to their show. They chaeted their own race trying to make a white girl win. Andrea was not the best singer on the show people need to stop lieing and be honest. Like I said I do not like the judges they are against their race uncle toms and white folks niggers. They are evil and I will not watch the show no more. I hope Michael Pugh will make a CD and become greater than them and Angrea.

i wanted to share that i think something was truly wrong with the voting system. I was sad to see that Amber won. Of course i am happy for her but i think the wrong person won the title. The other 3 sunday best winners all were full of anointment naturally and someone had to tell Amber to show it. Something not right. But hey just a comment

It is unfortunately for people like myself who are coming to the website for the first time. I’m just learning that there was a problem with one of the telephone numbers so none of the votes counted for one of the contestants. I didn’t know a new number was issued and you had to vote again so that may explain why Andrea lost . They both have a tremendous talent but Andrea just had that Anointing in her spirit.

I have read all the comments regarding the outcome of yesterday’s deceison. Andrea Helms is truly annointed and is a woman of great faith and God. Her position as first lady beside her husband to help win souls for Christ is something that will continue to be a part of her. Now that the world knows her their congreation will grow and more sould can be won. Amber has an amazing voice and God will bless her in her quest to bless those that listen to her.

We are Christians and we should not be so upset becasue of who won and who did not win. Both ladies have a special gift from God and like one person commented, this is God’s plan for Amber.

Congratulations to both candidates who both were anointed. My choice was Amber because I liked her style and voice. I sing some and lean more toward gospel songs. I think her voice is amazing, perhaps you think she wasn’t anointed because of the songs she selected to sing. I truly enjoyed the songs – and the bottom line is she did touch people. We all have opinions, likes, and dislikes, but we must realize that one person (preacher, teacher, singer, etc) will not reach everyone because we are all different. Therefore, some people enjoyed Amber more and others enjoyed Andre. Since they were both very good, it could have gone either way. Personally, I enjoyed the last young man who was disqualified, but here again it wasn’t up to me. My hat’s off to all of the contestants because it took courage and talent to win a spot.

Win some Said on

The spirit of the Lord radiated throughout Andrea’s performance! I felt her connection with the music and just does not understand why she was not made the winner! Andrea, continue to shine and radiate through your faith; as even though the world did not crown you a winner, you are a winner from the perspective of Christianity! I also believe that the last male contestant that was recently eliminated should have been amongst the last two standing.

I refuse to waste anymore time watching Sunday Best in Seasons to come!!

…….and for those readers who want to use the racist card, get over it, as I support all mankind and love myself and any and everyone from all ethnicity!!!

First and foremost, some of the postings on here are by far “to heaveny bound for earthly good”. Some are posting that as Christians we hould not be upset about the outcome. That is not true. Show me one bible passage that says Christians can’t get mad about injustices. In face it says “Be angry but sin not”. And yes, I was angry. It was obvious that Amber had a great voice. However, her singing lacked the true testimony of relationship with God. Andrea sang and her singing showed her life. The judges constantly told her how her singing mirrored the God in her life. Not once did they tell Amber that. BET has lost a faithful Sunday Best fan with this foolishness.

Wow Andrea, I watched Sunday’s Best just to hear this girl minister, You can see Christ in her. I feel last night was her victory, if she is tied up in the studio recording, she will not be in her church to receive the blessing that God is going to pour down on them, if the community didn’t know that church they do now because she was given the opportunity to show what that church is and the annointing that is there. She will have more than she can handle because she obeyed the Lord an showed us every sunday why she sing, and that is to give him all honor and glory.

Be blessed!!!

Ok People so Amber won and a lot of you wanted Andrea to win. The destiny of this ladies are in God’s hand and not your voting, Andrea will be whatever God has ordained her to be without fail! and so will Amber.
GET OVER IT PEOPLE IT’S ONLY A SHOW. REAL LIFE BEGINS AFTER THE SHOW IS OVER.
God bless both singers!

I thank God for the righteous paths that he takes us on. I feel 1st Lady Andrea took this avenue to do what God had for her to do. I appreciate that she came our way & let God have his way. We all have paths that God take us on. Sometimes it’s for a while & then it’s for moment. But praise God that as we go that God is getting the Glory. I know God have more doors for her & I believe she will walk thru everyone. Also I believe God has just enlarge Amber territory & has truly blessed her indeed. Amber just keep God the center of all that you do. God Bless.

My heart is really in pain over this. Two days I have been crying. The First Lady was the true winner. At the announcement of the winner, I threw the remote and left the room in tears and I don’t even know the First Lady. All I know is she gave the world her heart through her music and the world turned its back! Why! When will we understand that the “Ambers” are the reason the anointing is leaveing our music ministries. They have skill and no sold out life! Amber is nothing more than a cheap copy of Kim Burrel in case you didn’t hear it or don’t know your music! First Lady is truly sent by God and has a voice that reaches the hearts of all who listens. Every Sunday when First Lady sung I would stand in front of the T.V. watching and being fed (spiritually). When Amber would sing, I would go get a sandwhich! Because I have heard her “Sound” before. If this is Sunday’s Best then gospel music as I know it and grew up playing is in deep trouble. And trust me, I am well qulified in the craft to say that. My resume’ speaks for me. This is an slap in the face to all of us who gave our lives to the ministry of music to have skill taken over anointing. First Lady, You Will always be the winner in my heart! And if anybody wants to confront me on this my number is 540-538-3133

I really enjoyed Amber. I am glad she won. Andrea did well with the songs that she was given and I think she’ll continue to do well becuase of the exposure and for her musical style. She seems to have a strong following and that is good. I wonder if she was AA would she have made it this far? Just a thought. Oh and please stop taking all this SOOOOOOOOOOO seriously. Would anyone on the blog pay actual dollars to hear Andrea sing if she was headlining at a local venue? Could she headline a local venue?
Just thoughts?

L.J Said on

This is to “at work” I wanted to answer your question. You asked if Amber was African American, would she have gotten this far. The Bible says that we come and join together in fellowship, as long as God gets the glory, she could have been blue, she brought out the anointing each and every-time she opened her mouth. And yes she could head line at shows and open for anyone in the world and I would pay cash money to see her. It’s not about her color, or what she looks like, but it’s about that she is a real woman of God. and yes I did vote and it was for Andrea, and I am 29 year old african american. I know that God was pleased with her praise as well as Amber. the only problem was that it was like this year was a discrepancy and things really needed to be changed.

Debi Said on

What can I say? The wrong person won this program. The Anointing spoke for Himself and that was over Andrea NOT the lady who won it. God have mercy on Mary Mary!!!!! I’m disappointed in you as well. I will never watch this show again. I did not feel that any of you represented MY Heavenly Father correctly except Pastor Donnie McClurkin. You will stand before God in the dishonest things you have done. Andrea represented Jesus in all that she did. The other lady copy cat Jill Scott . She could never be herself…… God’s music does not have a color to it Mary Mary!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!! Kirk Franklin what can I say…….. be ye separated and stop sounding like the world. Again this viewer will never watch this show again.

ALTHO, I LIKED ANDREA, I’M NOT KIDDING THERE WAS A TIME THAT AMBER LEFT ME IN TEARS. BOTH WOMEN WERE FANTASTIC. I KNOW THAT GOD HAS GREAT PLANS FOR ANDREA, YOU CAN’T KEEP A GOOD/GOD WOMAN DOWN. MY ONLY TROUBLE WITH THE SHOW IS, WHY CAN’T THE RUNNER UP RECEIVE SOME OF THE PRIZES. IF NOT THE CAR OR CONTRACT AT LEAST A CASH PRIZE. THERE IS ENOUGH TO GO AROUND. AND ANDREA DESERVED IT.
