So folks, I’m not going to lie and not say that I’m not still a little numb. I have a hard time with eliminations in general even though I know they must be done, but by the time we get to this point, they become even harder. We know the contestants better than wse did at the beginning and then add to that, they’re all so excellent that it’s just hard. You don’t want anyone to leave even though you know someone’s got to. UGH! But anyway, before we get into that, let’s get into Sunday night’s episode, shall we? Read the rest of this entry »

Hey folks. So what did you think of this past Sunday’s episode. It was an “emotional” one for a lot of you, I know. It was for us too who work on the show. TRUST ME! You guys have been hitting me to get my thoughts and I had a hard time getting them together but here they are. Let’s go! Read the rest of this entry »

You’d have to be under a rock not to know that after a whirlwind past two years, Vashawn Mitchell is about to release a brand new CD Created 4 This on Tuesday, August 28. The snippets posted on various sites have folks talking and predicting that “Vashawn’s gonna do it again” and I gotta say I agree. But having attended the recording, I noticed there was song “missing” and I was a little mad about it! Ha!
Come to find out, they weren’t missing per se. So I worked some magic and got my hands on “I Will” which features the beast herself Kierra Sheard. And no, this isn’t a snippet. This is the full track! Listen and tell me what you think? Read the rest of this entry »

Hey folks, let’s just get right into it ok? This episode was special because it paid tribute to one of the greatest and most prolific artists and songwriters of ALL time, Pastor Andrae Crouch. So with that, the Sunday Best six began with a performance of “Can’t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus.” (Yeah, he even wrote that! I bet you think some old lady at a convention in the 1800’s started it up in a tarry service but nope, Andrae Crouch!) Read the rest of this entry »

What’s up folks!
Not too long ago Marvin Sapp stopped by to discuss his new CD “I Win” and how he deals with the demands of being perhaps the most popular gospel artist out right now. With that placement comes a lot of “expectations” musically and personally and we discussed those all those things! I know you know what I’m talking about but if you don’t, watch to find out! Sup folks. It’s an early day in Chicago and I’m excited because I’m in town for Vashawn Mitchell’s live recording of his new CD and I’ve got to say that from the looks of it, he’s going even further with this project than he did with Triumphant. Now I’m not just saying this because I’m a fan, or because he’s a friend of BET.com and the Gospel According To Torrence, and that I went to the last recording although all those things are true. Musically, it’s just THAT good and I know because I got the chance to preview the new music last night in his closed dress rehearsal. Read the rest of this entry »
