Sup folks. TGIF! And what better way to celebrate Friday than with the new music video video from one of my FAVORITE singers on the planet, Lisa Page-Brooks. Although the word is overused, it’s appropriate here. Lisa sings and performs with so much SWAG! It’s a lost art in gospel, and that’s why I love her so!
I’m also excited to see a gospel video that’s shot with quality and professionalism, because let’s just be honest, 99.9% of the times they look like they were shot with a 90’s pre-paid cell phone camera with a bad battery! Lisa’s styling is good, the camera work is top notch and it’s just a really, really good. I like that it has a theme (a day in the life/reality show) but isn’t overly contrived and nobody’s in the hospital or running into a church having a “Color Purple I’s married now” moment. (You know those concepts are sooooo worn out.)
So to celebrate your Friday, check out Lisa Page-Brooks’ new music video for “God Is Good!”

Sup folks, I’m really excited about today’s guest blog. I’m not just excited because Charmain Swimpson who was a Sunday Best Season 3 background singer, sings with Kirk Franklin and others is stopping by. I’m excited because this post isn’t about a Pastor scandal, a good or bad CD, or anything like that. Today Charmaine is going to share some serious info that could help save someone’s life. Let’s get to it.

Sup folks. I’m ridiculously excited about this post because San Franklin is one of my favorite “new” singers in gospel. I say “new” with some sarcasm because she’s actually been in the industry for a while backing up and supporting folks like Bishop Walter Hawkins (her mentor and spiritual father), Donald Lawrence and the Clark Sisters. But now she’s finally stepping into her own solo spot and I’m glad about it! She completely SLAYED the Bonnerfide Radio Launch Party during Stellar Awards Weekend in January and was featured on this past season of Bobby Jones Gospel singing “Arise.”
That was actually the first time I heard San Franklin sing solo; at Bobby Jones Gospel taping last year. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, not really but kinda….
Tom Jones, most known for old school pop hits like She’s a Lady, What’s New Pussycat, and the ever popular “It’s Not Unusual” is putting out a new album next week called Praise & Blame and it’s supposed to be his attempt at going in a spiritual and “bluesy” direction. Read the rest of this entry »

With all the good music coming out in gospel recently, there’s always a moment where there’s some funny stuff that you just have to share. As I’m known to say on twitter, funny FINDS ME and when this found me, I couldn’t keep it to myself.
