Sup folks! i know, I know! it’s been a little while. It’s just been a busy time of year and most time I’m a one man band so I got a little behind and overwhelmed but I’m BACKKKKKKKK.
But even better, it’s Celebration Of Gospel week! This Sunday, yes THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 30 Celebration Of Gospel 2011 premiers on BET at 8pm! Every year the show gets better and better and I’m particularly excited about this year because of the fresh faces on the show and some of the crazy fun and interesting behind the scenes footage I captured along with some special content that I think you’re going to enjoy. So everyday this week up until the big night I’ll be bringing you new exclusive video and content from the Celebration Of Gospel. Read the rest of this entry »

Last night, we taped our 11th installment of BET’s Celebration Of Gospel and even as I type this I’m still “IN.” It probably sounds like we say it every year but it’s true, it was one of the best ever! The night was full of highlights and moments and the Celebration Of Gospel veterans and newcomers all tore it down. Here’s the rundown. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s official: Celebration Of Gospel is returning on January 30, 2011 for its 11th year! Steve Harvey returns as host and this year’s talent lineup is fun and shall I say rather FRESH. There are some new faces in the bunch, some R&B legends as well as some amazing gospel mainstays that I think will provide a good mix that Celebration of Gospel strives for. There will also be special tributes to Bishop Walter Hawkins and Albertina Walker in this year’s show!
But that’s enough talking; check out who’s performing and appearing! Read the rest of this entry »

More details are coming in for the funeral/homegoing celebration of Walter Hawkins. Some of gospel and even r&b’s most talented and influential artists are coming to salute and pay tribute to Hawkins.

Finally, my recap on the Sunday Best 3 finale. I don’t know if you remember from last year, but I always get a little “emo” at the last episode of Sunday Best. We know it’s going to end but we still miss it and wish it wouldn’t. Well, here we go! Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks. Sunday, our “wildcard” Martha Buries time on Sunday Best 3 also came to an end. Martha accomplished the extremely difficult task of having to “redeem” herself after she technically was already sent home. The judges picked a top 10 and she wasn’t in it, but there was something in her that made the judges bring her back. And after she came back, she stayed! Everybody couldn’t have done that. I think most of the contestants in the final 20 contest are great, but Martha was one of my favorites and I always looked forward to her from week to week because she always brought a little something new that I didn’t think she was capable of. I don’t think this will be the last of Martha either, but until she comes back out to hopefully bring us some new music, here’s Martha’s guest blog. Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks. On Sunday, we said goodbye to Tiffany Carlin-Laird from Sunday Best 3. It’s been bittersweet the last few weeks because like we keep having to remind ourselves, great singers will be going home. Tiffany is obviously one of those people it hurt to see leave but I predict and believe that she just left the show, but not the gospel music industry. We’ll be seeing and hearing her again, but until then here’s Tiffany in her own words. Read the rest of this entry »
