This post may be short. Because it’s really not about my “commentary” but about the song and the cause.
During this past Stellar Awards weekend, Kirk Franklin and a TON of the gospel artists in town came together to record a song to inspire, comfort and raise funds for the people affected by the recent earthquakes in Haiti. A gospel “We Are The World” if you will. I think the gospel industry ought to be commended for this effort and I support it fully and hope you will too. Read the rest of this entry »

Latayla Andrews to the “The Gospel According To Torrence” family. It’s no secret that I’m a gospel lover and I try to cover all things gospel on the blog, but although “gospel” is a message, sometimes the lines get a little crossed when it comes to the STYLE that the message is presented in. So yeah, I love Gospel the message, and the style I “prefer” is gospel too. Just is. Now I’ve studied music, have an appreciation for quite a few styles of music and have worked in various music genres that may surprise you, so shut it down with the “open your mind” comments that I’m sure to come. I like what I like and that’s just that. There are no rules to this whole “taste” thing, so with that, I realized that I didn’t do my best with covering music on the CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) front.
