It’s official: Celebration Of Gospel is returning on January 30, 2011 for its 11th year! Steve Harvey returns as host and this year’s talent lineup is fun and shall I say rather FRESH. There are some new faces in the bunch, some R&B legends as well as some amazing gospel mainstays that I think will provide a good mix that Celebration of Gospel strives for. There will also be special tributes to Bishop Walter Hawkins and Albertina Walker in this year’s show!
But that’s enough talking; check out who’s performing and appearing! Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks, today was LONG!!!!!
Meetings, appointments, interviews (stay tuned for Juanita Bynum), and a whole lot of other stuff. It was one of “those days.” You know where you’re working really hard, not too sure you’re getting much of anything accomplished because the minute you think you’ve crossed off something significant from your “to-do” list, you have to add 5 more things to it! One of those days where “thank you” seemed like a curse word to most people and “now” or “asap” are the words you hear way more often. Yeah, I’m venting and I’m allowed. ha! But whenever I wasn’t in meetings and was able to listen to music, I was (always, can’t stand but so much silence) and “It Will All Be Worth It” by Mary Mary came on and made everything better! Sup folks. Me again. Don’t clap, just worship!” (That is a Celebration Of Gospel inside joke that, if you remember past years, will hit you later, lol)
But anyway, I’m back with some more highlights from Day 2 of rehearsals for Celebration Of Gospel 2010. (Forgive my tacky picture taking skills, lol.) Read the rest of this entry »

Yeah buddy!!!!
It’s that time again! Celebration of Gospel (or COG as we call it in the industry, so lazy we are) 2010 is taping in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, December 12, 2009! We’re going back to the Orpheum theater and this show is shaping up to be hot! It’s about to be a “family affair” and you can see why as you check out who’s scheduled to perform. Sup folks. I kind of went on a twitter rant today about this topic so someone suggested I put it all in one place. So here goes.
There were a lot of excited new artists twittering and facebooking to the top of their lung fingers that “Ooooh, I’m nominated for a Stellar Award, go vote for me now!” Umm, I appreciate your excitement and all that, but when the Awards tape and they name the “nominees” from that podium, there’s a good chance your name will NOT be on the list.
