Sean "Diddy" Combs, Whitney Houston, Dr. Keith Black

Well now we all know why Sean “Diddy” Combs really chose next week to be his “Dirty Money/Bad Boy” weekend. The 40-year-old entertainment mogul and entrepreneur will be honored with others luminaries at our third annual BET Honors, taping in Washington DC at the Warner Theater (1299 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) January 16th.

Other honorees include r&b legend and diva, Whitney Houston, Oscar nominated actress and Grammy Award winning rapper Queen Latifah, educator Ruth Simmons and neurosurgeon Keith Black.

Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, and Patti LaBelle will be presenting and perform, while actress Gabrielle Union will serve as host.

Are you ready for this bit of Hollywood to descend on the nations cap? I am. The weekend is full of events that I’ll be attending besides the main show. I’ll be sure to give you the inside scoop on the after parties, get-together-s and galas that go down as a result of the third annual BET Honors!

Usher on the Lincoln Memorial Steps in DC

Even though turkeys have yet to be cut, a slew of holiday events are quickly ushering Christmas to the District. One of the most highly coveted guest list will be TNT’s 11th annual music concert, Christmas in Washington. The holiday music special is usually attended by the President & First Lady and other DC VIPS; benefiting the National Children’s Medical Center.

Christmas in Washington will be diverse if not anything. TNT tapped talented comedian George Lopez to host, and feature performances by Usher, Mary J. Blige, Neil Diamond & Rob Thomas among others. The taping is to take place at the National Building Museum (401 F St NW # 215) on December 13th, and air on December 20th (a day before Usher’s new EP Raymond v. Raymond drops…smart).

TNT has a hard job ahead of them if they want to impress President O. The White House Music Series have a pretty impressive list of past and future performers, that have already captivated the American public. Be sure to tune in.
