Proceeds from tonight’s event will go to BloomBarsArtist-in-Bloom Visiting Residency Initiative”, a cultural exchange program that brings artists of different cultures and levels of success together to network, and supports the growth of up and coming artist.

The 29 year old hip-hop icon sometimes called the “Jay-Z of Africa” infuses South African cultural influences in his music by mixing Setswana, isiZulu and Sesotho languages in his lyrics. His critically acclaimed fourth album Acceptance Speech featured Amerie in the video for his single “Music and Lights”. On his upcoming project HHP is collaborating with rap icon Nas, and Wyclef Jean.

Want to get in the giving spirit? Well here’s your opportunity! Popular DC clubs Lotus Lounge, Policy an Eye Bar will be hosting a Toy Drive today to benefit Toys for Tots today (December 22nd). Each year the US Marine Corps Reserve collects new, unwrapped gifts for the program to benefit needy kids. So you see getting down isn’t the only thing DC clubs are good for.

No time to run to Walmart or some other toy store? They’ll also except checks, made payable to “DC Toys for Tots” so no excuses people!
