DC native hip hop artist Wale premiered his video for the single “Pretty Girls” off of his first LP Attention Deficit on 106 & Park last night. Apparently there was some controversy over whether or not the video featured enough browner skinned women, but I honestly thought it showcased a good spectrum of skin complexions and non-video-model-traditional body images. But hey, some one’s always going to have something to say. Check it out!

Wale Album Release Party
The DMV and the entertainment industry are buzzing about the release of my homie, rapper Wale’s first EP, Attention Deficit which hit store shelves today (November 10th). The DC native is apart of the new school of rappers and musicians that are taking the reigns from the more seasoned artist, and was recently selected as a BET Rising Icon.
Now you can get in on the Wale action if you live in the DMV area. Tomorrow (November 11th) he’ll be signing CD’s at DTLR in the Mall in Prince George’s (3500 East West Hwy) at 6 o’clock pm. But most importantly is his album release party! You can come out and celebrate his success with him tomorrow at Ibiza Nightclub (1222 First St. NE) from 8-11 o’clock pm.
And of course I’ll be in the building supporting him! You should too.

100 Black Men of Hope: Community Initiative
It’s always been so important to me to pay it forward. Public service helps us to remember where we came from as people and why its a must to give back to those who are less fortunate. Giving a hand helps shatter the proverbial glass ceiling between what society calls the have and have nots.
In that spirit, this morning (November 6th) from 9am-2pm; 100 African American men will volunteer at the Imagine Hope Community Charter School (2917 8th St. NE, Washington DC) to promote community service and involvement. The event is presented by Suite Nation (a group by my good friend Ian Callender), Real Mango Juice and Commun LLC.
Wale
Also sponsoring the event are Target, Capital Custom, my homie Interscope artist Wale, NBA player Kevin Durant, professional skateboarder Darren Harper and Island Flavors Caterers. Interested in volunteering? You can still email 1manshope@gmail.com
