Share Your Voting Experience
November 4th, 2008
We voted in record numbers today.
Together, we’ve never been more excited, more anxious, more moved by any other presidential election in the history of this country.
Today is American history in the making and we are each a part of it - whether Obama wins or loses.
According to a recent BET.com poll, most of us are moved by the crumbling economy. But I know many of us also came out to make our voices heard because of skyrocketing gas prices, the wars and the fact that a Black man is up for the highest job in the country.
So, as you voted today, what was your experience? Share it with us. How did you feel at the polls? Did you run into any problems? What made you proud? Frustrated. What are you doing tonight as you wait for the results.
Sound off here.

YES, WE CAN…..CAN WE, YES
We are the people that came from “I have a dream,”
To A Dream I have,
We are the people that came from “NO You Will Never Make IT” to,
“Yes, We Can”
The Chains dropped and hit the ground…
A silent broke across the land… Those Words uttered in the classrooms, in many homes, communities and cultures…
Across the broaden seas, A New Phrase sounding so sweet….
“Yes We Can!”
Yes, We Can Stand Tall, and Make a Difference…
Yes, We can Change Years of Misguided, Ill and Inappropriate behavior,
To a land of equality, a union of man and woman of every color, of every culture, and community; joining hands as a nation, and not a color….
This Day, History has been made and a message has been delivered
to every woman, man, boy, and girl…..
This Day As Barack Obama stands tall and victorious with
Strength and Power that stands beside him (Michelle, and the girls)…
As they join hands once again…
As Senator Obiden and his family Change the errors of history
As they create a new found Change….
Those words changed from “YES WE CAN” To “CAN WE, YES!”
To the 44th President of the United States

I commend President Elect Barack Obama and his family and pray for the blessings they have been bestowed!
For EVERY young black male in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, YES!!! you can!!!! Let this be a lesson to you that regardless of any negative, you will and can always be positive and know that if you set your mind to it, YOU can DO IT!.
Hard work and perserverance will take you where you want to be. Do NOT let your skin color and your ignorance keep you from doing the very best!
Let this President, who will be in your history books, lead you to do whats right! Respect your women, mothers, sisters, aunties, female cousins, and step up to your responsibilities in your path!
Im still in shock but in great BELIEF! ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE LORD AND SAVIOR!
I’M SO GRATEFUL THAT WE HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT ELECT. GOD HAS ANSWERED MY PRAYERS. CONGRADULATOIN TO YOU SENTOR OBAMA AND FAMILY. DON’T FORGET US.YOUR BLACK VOTERS.WE LOVE YOU.THANK GOD 4 YOU. MAY GOD BLESS & KEEP YOU FORVER.
I’M VERY HAPPY AND THANKS THE LORD 4 YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. BECAUSE YOU SPEAKS YOUR MIND.AND TELL THE TRU. WE FINALLY HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT IN THE WHITE HOUSE. SO ALL HATERS GET OVER IT. BECAUSE WE HAVE CAME A LONG WAY AND NOW IT’S TIME 4 ALL OF US TO REJOICE AND THANK THE LORD 4 WHAT HE HAS GIVEN US. MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Why did everyone vote for him? Just because he was black? That’s a stupid reason to vote for someone. Most black people don’t even know what Obama stands for. They just voted for him because he was black. As a result, we’re going to have a rough 4 years, and no white person will ever consider voting for Obama again, thanks to him screwing everything up. LISTEN TO THE MAN FOR A CHANGE!
First of all i didn’t vote for obama because he was black i voted simply because he’s the man i want to run this country. and who are you to say that it’s going to be a rough 4 years. i believe these four years will be the best this country has ever had. Mccain didn’t win simply because he’s another bush and this country can’t afford another four years of the last eight years. And just so you know not only did whites and african amercans vote for obama latinos and other races voted as well. in fact more whites were exicted to vote for obama as well as the african americans and other races.
I have one question for you Thomas do you know what Obama stands for?????????
Congrats Obama
Your life was being prepared to be the presisent a long time ago. This is gods will It took you to be half black half white to bring this country together
as one. WOW GOD IS AWESOME. I can’t stop crying I Know you are going to do great things for this country because it’s gods will. Love you and your family you guys are blessed and know human can touch that with a ten foot pole. GOD Speed and God bless you. Hope to meet you and your wife one day I would be honored
Congrats Obama
This is the best uplift for our country. I haven’t heard anyone mention the fact that Oral Roberts prophecied in the mid 1990’s at Azusa Conference that this country would be lead by a black man and it would change alot of things for our country. The reason why I remember this prophetic word is because when he spoke it, two white pastors got up and walked off the platform. So God’s got this covered.
President-elect Barack Obama is the best of both black and white world, which simply confirms and consolidates the belief that together we can achieve anything. His 20 year relationship with his church and pastor was thrown to the public, to wipe out the thought and belief that he was a muslim(not that being a muslim is a bad thing) it was being used as a fear factor to drive away voters, we got that all along, but God had it covered! The state of the Economy, is also a define intervention, making certain that Americans vote the person they know could get them out of the Economic mess, and he will! oh Yes he can!
The Hand of God is behind him, he got a whole lot of endorsements, but the most of all came from God!
First of all, I will like to thank God for letting me see this day. History has been made at last, sitting on the 4 and watch that vote resuit was one of the hard thing that I done in my life. My mind didnot know what to think and my headache was hurting me. I was in the bathroom, when I hear my mom crying out, I thought that was it McCain has win but than she called me to come saw and I come out of the bathroom and saw that my mom was crying because of the joy and I could cry but get my things and run out of the building to go outside and calling out the people to come and join me for us to sharm to monment with each other. I did not go to sleep that night, although I had calss that day but I will did not care. We had a block party that night unite when about 3 when the police come and stop us. Obama winning this position because of all of us, so thanks to people who went out and vote and other for us supporting because it all count. Congratulations PRESIDENT OBAMA, I love you and god bless you and your family. And this time for black people to change and work our way up to the top because we all can do it. That was Martin Luther King Jr dream was and its time to make that happen. Love all and bless us all
I was trying to find a place to let out a little frustration I have been having with All of the Black Community Hailing Barack Obama As The “First African American President” And this is my problem. I respect that man and voted for him myself And agree with his ideals. My issue is how the African American Community has by large treated us mixed folks as second class negros. We are never black enough when it comes to heated issues about race, but when one of us gets elected president all of the sudden we are black enough. Why is that. I think that is awfully convenient. We are looked at by everyone else as black but whne it comes to our own community we are no longer “black enough”. I lived all up and down the east coast and the consesus has always been the same when it came to mixed kids ……Any answers…I would like to hear this.Cause right now I am feeling some kind of way about this.
Please Pray this Prayer each day for the President & His Family Protection!
Psalms 91:1- 16
91:1 (Barack Obama & Family) that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 (Barack Obama & Family) will say of the LORD, He is (Barack Obama & Family) refuge and ( Barack Obama & Family) fortress: (Barack Obama & Family) God; in him will (Barack Obama & Family) trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver (Barack Obama & Family) from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover (Barack Obama & Family) with his feathers, and under his wings shalt (Barack Obama & Family) trust: his truth shall be (Barack Obama & Family) shield and buckler.
5 (Barack Obama & Family) shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at (Barack Obama & Family) side, and ten thousand at
( Barack Obama & Family) right hand; but it shall not come nigh
(Barack Obama & Family).
8 Only with (Barack Obama & Family) eyes shalt (Barack Obama & Family) behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because (Barack Obama & Family) hast made the LORD, which is
( Barack Obama & Family) refuge, even the most High, (Barack Obama & Family) habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall (Barack Obama & Family), neither shall any plague come nigh (Barack Obama & Family) dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over (Barack Obama & Family), to keep
(Barack Obama & Family) in all (Barack Obama & Family) ways.
12 They shall bear (Barack Obama & Family) up in their hands, lest (Barack Obama & Family) dash (Barack Obama & Family) foot against a stone.
13 (Barack Obama & Family) shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt (Barack Obama & Family) trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon (Barack Obama & Family), therefore will I deliver (Barack Obama & Family): I will set (Barack Obama & Family) on high, because (Barack Obama & Family) hath known my name.
15 (Barack Obama & Family) shall call upon me, and I will answer (Barack Obama & Family): I will be with (Barack Obama & Family) in trouble; I will deliver (Barack Obama & Family), and honour (Barack Obama & Family).
16 With long life will I satisfy (Barack Obama & Family), and shew (Barack Obama & Family) my salvation.
May The Angels of God watch over Them always.
Isaiah 54: 17 – No Weapon…
Thank You Father in Jesus name!
Amen
