I AM SO VERY HAPPY FOR BARACK OBAMA, HIS FAMILY, JOE BIDEN, AND THIS COUNTRY!! AND I JUST WANNA THANK GOD FOR LETTING THIS ELECTION TURN OUT THE WAY MOST PEOPLE WANTED IT TO!!! IT WAS DEFINITELY TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!

WHEN I HEARD THAT BARACK OBAMA WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, I CRIED. BUT THEY WERE TEARS OF JOY. MY MOM ASKED WHY I WAS CRYING AND I TOLD HER ” MOM, IM CRYING BECAUSE YEARS AGO WE COULD NOT VOTE JUST BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF OUR SKIN. LOOK WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED. WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT.”

I am very emotional at this time. I hardly ever cry, but election night, the tears never stopped. They were tears of joy and happiness! I thanked my Lord God! Because it was by his grace that this was all possible…I never thought I would see this in my lifetime, an African-American in the highest position in this country. MLK, and others that fought so hard for equality would be soooo Proud! Dr. King THANK YOU FOR HAVING AN OBTAINABLE DREAM!! AND FOR THE RECORD YES WE CAN!!! LOL 2 E1 THAT VOTED

Obama will do a great job and its a great feeling to kow that he actually has black america as well as america as a whole supportin him and cheerin him on the way….

I’m just a white kid who grew up in a white neighborhood. But now, most of my friends are of one color or another, speak different languages and come from all sorts of socioeconomic backgrounds. Getting to love all of these people has really put the idea of civil rights into perspective for me. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without them in it. What my friends’ parents fought for and what my Jewish ancestors fought for, the freedom to be who we are and who we aspire to be, has never meant more to me. What the election of Barack Obama means to us and to the world will not really be put into perspective for some time. Right now we feel elation; we’ve seen perhaps the greatest racial barrier broken. But what this event will inspire in others will play out for the rest of our history. Like the Beatles picking up their instruments because of Elvis’ Ed Sullivan appearance, or the countless athletes who began playing because they watched Jackie Robinson, the youth of today–black, white, yellow, orange, purple–will use this accomplishment of Barack Obama as a catalyst for so many great things that we cannot yet imagine.

David, very well said. I am just happy that mom who had to sit in the back of the bus and drink from seperate water fountains, and suffered breast cancer twice..lived to see this day. Of course my mom has some bitterness in her and I hope that this election allows her to realize that the biggots are not the majority in this country and that this is in some way an attempt for whites to make ammends and make right the wrongs of the past!

I am very happy to have lived to see this day come. I always knew one day we’d have a black president. I never gave up hope. I always kept the faith. I remember in 2002 I told my husband “he (Obama) is going to be our next president” and my husband laughed at me. A whisper deep in my soul told me that Barak Obama would be our next president and when he announced his running, I new victory was had. God bless President Obama and his family around the world. I am extremely proud of you soldier! If I could advise President Obama of anything, I would say never stop praying, keep your faith strong in God’s Word because that is what will lead you in the right direct, never forget who you are and what your purpose is. God has shown you favor. Cherish every moment!!!
