This is an emotional and historical day for every ethnic American in this country. I am a Hispanic woman with a Black Husband. Our chilren are mixed and this is so exciting I can show my children that our President is BiRacial that they can be anything they want to be if they work hard and stay out of the streeets and into the books. It's a new day and a new way. Now we as parents have to step up to the plate and take responsibility for where our kids are and what they're doing and watching on Television. It's a job raising children. It's not easy. America is not easy but if you love it and love your babies then you have to work for it. Thank God every day and pray to give Mr Obama the strength to do this job and help us to help our selves and our children.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!! Barack was saddened by the passing of his Grandmother Monday night (weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning); but JOY came Tuesday. HOW GREAT THOU ART!! Barack, continue to do what you do; you are a strong, intelligent, dignified, brilliant man. I believe you chose a humble and dedicated man when you chose Joe Biden. He appears that before the election he was willing to stand by you and I say CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BARACK, MICHELLE, BOTH DAUGHTERS, TO YOU JOE BIDEN, and YOUR WIFE. May God continue to bless you all.

Ever since I could remember, I was enthralled by law and justice. One would have sworn that I was a Civil Rights' child; but I wasn't. What connected me so deeply to that era? I recall fighting every single day in a private school because once again, I was the "n****". I never would retaliate with my words; rather, I decided my fists were more effective. As a young girl, my father (God rest his soul) sat me down with some rented library books. I read about nonviolent resistance. I delved more and more into historical research that connected me to Martin Luther King Jr. and also connected Martin Luther King Jr. to Mahatma Ghandi. This nonviolent resistance proved effective from generation to generation. If it worked for them, I decided that I would let it work for me. I replaced anger and bitterness with compassion and forgiveness. I became more appreciative of the powerful legacies that preceded me; and as I read life changing words in various forms of media, I was automatically transported back to the Civil Rights Era. My emotions transcended my mind, my heart, and it took root deep down in my soul. As I watched the election results, those emotions welled up again. I was actually watching Martin Luther King Jr's words become a reality: Obama and Biden embracing and raising each other up, Obama's children and Biden's youth interacting, and Michelle Obama and Biden's wife embracing and interacting. The words that I once read and heard via media, echoed in my ears. The dream of racial ties being overcome and unity happening amongst the races was no longer a dream; it was a reality. I knew that the road ahead would be long and arduous, but if people before had the tenacity and the endurance to survive much worse times, I figured that I too could be a part of that same spirit that never will die. The tears that streamed down my face as I watched history being made intertwined with the emotions that had taken roots a couple of decades ago. As goosebumps spread from my arms to my heart, I realized just what this meant for every group of adversity, particularly minority men. Now, I pray that God will surround Obama with angels of wisdom, justice, strength, faith and love. I pray that God will surround him with a hedge of protection; and I speak His word, "No weapon formed against [Obama] will prosper..." . Fear will be defeated in Jesus' name! Amen.
