BET.com has named President-elect Barack Obama as its 2008 “Person of the Year.” We have concluded that no other person has had a more profound impact on Black America. Not only has he inspired a level of enthusiasm unprecedented in recent memory – prompting people of all ages and races to register, vote and become politically active – but he has inspired hope in a political system that many had written off as aloof, ineffective and uncaring. Obama smashed through the color barrier, crushing McCain and his female running mate, Sarah Palin, among women voters, African-American voters, voters under 30, Hispanic voters, first-time voters and voters who earn less than six figures a year. In his historic victory speech, Obama told a crowd in Chicago of more than 125,000, “If there’s anyone out there who still doubts America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of democracy, tonight is your answer.” BET.com believes that Obama indeed represents the epitome of the dream alluded to by the founders. Well First Of All Let Me Say That I Did Vote For Barack Obama And Am Damn Proud Of It And The Election Votes On November 7th 2008.So For All Of The Haters And Racist People Out There Get Over It Because Barack Obama Is Our New President And That Is Just The Way Its Gonna Be.I Truly Believe That This Man Can Make The Change That We The American People Need…”Yes We Can” Seriously This Is Like Major History And Not Just For Us Blacks,But For Our Whole Country,So Yes I Do Believe That Barack Obama Is The Person Of The Year,Hes Mine Anyway And Thats How I Feel About The Whole Situation,We Have Waited On This Moment For Too Long ,Finally Our Voices Have Been Heard,And With The Help Of Us The American People We Can Stand As One And Help Our New President Barack Obama Accomplish Change For America,And Years To Come!!!!!

Barack Obama is “MY” person of the year because he is an inspiration for us all. He showed us all that we can overcome ANYTHING, and that even us as African-Americans can do anything we put our minds to. I am the proudest i have ever been, to be an African-American, and it is becuase of Barack. I LOVE BARACK OBAMA AND HE IS MY PERSON OF THE YEAR♥
Barack Obama is my Person of the Year! When I listen to him speak, it sends chills down my spine and tears down my eyes. He’s so inspiring to so many people. My little sister is 11 years old and when they announced Obama as the President-Elect, she started crying and wasn’t talking for almost an hour! When is the last time you’ve heard of an election to have such an impact on a little girl, especially one at such a young age! As for me, I’m honored that I was able to vote for Barack Obama during my first time voting EVER! I knew that I was making history and I felt so good to be apart of one of the most historical elections ever. When I look on tv, I see a bunch of white men standing behind a strong black man. When is the last time you seen that happen? I thank God for Barack Obama and I believe in my heart that God wouldn’t have set Obama up for failure if He knew that Obama was going to lose that election. Now I pray for the safety of our new President and his beautiful family.
Yes, President-Elect Barack Obama is my person of the year-2008. I feel that nothing just happens. The day he won the election was already predestined by our creator. I feel that there is a hedge of protection around him and his family, and everything is already done, because God has truly set the stage. President-Elect Obama is an instrument being used by God to bring about great change in the universe for all man-kind who is willing to accept the change and let the will of God mainfest in our lives.

I think obama is my person of the year because he showed us that you can accomplish anything you want no matter what race you are. He has set an good example for alot of people to never give up and do what you feel is right.
