BET.com has named President-elect Barack Obama as its 2008 “Person of the Year.” We have concluded that no other person has had a more profound impact on Black America. Not only has he inspired a level of enthusiasm unprecedented in recent memory – prompting people of all ages and races to register, vote and become politically active – but he has inspired hope in a political system that many had written off as aloof, ineffective and uncaring. Obama smashed through the color barrier, crushing McCain and his female running mate, Sarah Palin, among women voters, African-American voters, voters under 30, Hispanic voters, first-time voters and voters who earn less than six figures a year. In his historic victory speech, Obama told a crowd in Chicago of more than 125,000, “If there’s anyone out there who still doubts America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of democracy, tonight is your answer.” BET.com believes that Obama indeed represents the epitome of the dream alluded to by the founders. When is he going to hire some black people. If Hillary would have won we would see somebody black being hired. Yes im holding him to the fire. I bet he won’t even consider a black for the high court to offset thomas. listen people don’t let him get us.
Why yes this man has beat all the odds coming from a bi-racial family and continued his passion in politics as a Senator.The man that we see today is a person with great strive.You know that he has encounter many obstacles in his journey for the chance to become the President of the United States of America so with that said he has become the poster person for living out your dream with hard work and education.

i am not american but hell yeah i think Barack Obama is definetly the man of the year! he is the one the world have been waiting for!! i live in france and seriously since he won the elections evry body is lookin at us (black people) differently!!!! so change has come not only in america but in the whole world!!! im proud of being black but im also proud of the american people (black n white)! i think America will definetly be a better place!! so long life to the new president!!!
i think that obama is the man of the year because now all the young black dudes that want to be drug dealers and thugs are looking like i can actually go to school and be whatever i want to be including president!!!!!

yes.Obama is a person of the year becouse of the positive impact that is made, he won bill clinton, hiliry and Maccain and became the first Afro- american president of USA, no more to say.
Barack Obama is my person of the year because he is the total representation of change. He has brought something to light that has been in the dark for so long; decency, honesty and pride. I think African Americans needed to have someone like him represent us, it seems like we have lost our way. He is a family man, an honest man and a responsible man and that is the type of influence and motivation we need right now. Its time for us to take a look at ourselves and improve our images so that our children can have someone else to look up to besides rappers and entertainment figures. He is a breath of fresh air………..

Wow!!! I’m still excited , I was happy to vote for Barrack Obama, first of all he’s intelligent, a thinker and he has a passion and vision for the good of all. Secondly, it seems he has Always spoken about and showed by his actions that he’s for the betterment of all Americans. He is “The One ”

Obama is more intrested in making history then what he can do for our country OH YEH WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT so what does that have to do with anything being black.
