Should a Federal Law Be Passed Allowing Gays and Lesbians to Marry?

Earlier this fall, the Movie “Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom” fictionalized Black gay marriage when two characters in the cult film decided to legally bind their relationship. In real life, though, Gays and Lesbians can only marry in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey. Laws in laws in Hawaii, Maine, Oregon and Washington and D.C. extend limited rights for same-sex couples. On Election Day, California voters upheld a ban on gay marriage, a move most in the Gay and Lesbian movement called a serious blow to their push for marriage. But they aren’t backing down. In fact, some commentators say that move has rallied supporters of gay marriage around the country to fight harder. On December 10, 2008 some gays around the country organzied a protest called “Day Without a Gay.” Although that demonstration didn’t quite take off , organizers say they plan to continue similar campaigns and acts of civil disobedience. Do you think Gays and Lesbians should have the right to marry? Talk about it.
I think that it is wrong to be able to tell a person who they can and can not marry. Not allowing gays and lesbians to get marry is not going to make their life decision just disappear. That is like telling a black person and a white person that they can not get married. I don’t necessarily condone the lifestyle but that is the lifestyle for them. I have two daughters, and yes, I would love for them to one day marry a nice man and have a family. But whether they chose a man or a woman to spend the lives with will not dictate the way I feel about them or the things that they do. We as a people need to start living our own lives and leave others to live theirs.

I don’t believe anyone has the right to judge anyone. That’s God’s job. I am a straight, black, woman. Being around gays doesn’t bother me. They are just as human as I am. People go against God’s Word eveyday. One sin isn’t any better or worst than another. Weather we have our souls right by judgement day, that should be our real focus. Let the Lord handle him, as he will handle us too.
I don’t we should ban a man or a woman to not marry the person they love. Love dosen’t see color, hurt, pain, the same race. All of us being in love before you didn’t want no one telling you can’t be with that person and i don’t see a problem with marring a man or a woman because love is what it is and only god judges so there fore none of us are him so who are we to tell a man not to marry a man , or a woman not to marry a woman.

I think that America is turning into a modern day Sodom and Gommorah. I do not think they should have the right to marry when our country was not founded away from Biblical principles. There are other places you can live that allow things like this, and plus there are states you can move to, so go there. but sont put everyone else in an uncomfortable position b/c you choose to live unnaturally!

Ya wana know what I have to say about GAYS? I say gays are amazing no I’m not one of them but yes i do support them. _People should be able to love who ever they want even if it is of the same sex.I say go for it and be with whoever you love no matter what people say.

It’s not really about the two people but its really about the Bible and The words and commandments in it. Nobody is perfect no.. but their is a way you should live, yes Jesus died for our sins, but we dont keep living in sin. The wages of sin is death and hell. I really don’t understand the debate; especially for people who claim to know the Lord and have a right relationship with God. For those who don’t, a good bible study is in order–with spiritual understanding as to all that God promises those who “delight in Him”. We have a become a nation that is too concerned about what is “politically correct” rather than what is Godly righteous. I’m praying for a “renewed mind and spirit” that is attuned to God for all people so that this nation might be saved from the disasters that are bound to come from those who make a mockery of God’s Word and His intent for all of mankind.
It is time, actually past time, for all God-fearing, Bible believing Christians to come out of the closet and “say what God says”; no more, no less. We must know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and He has not changed His mind about what He said or what He did or will do.
