Stevie Wonder Gets Gershwin Prize
September 4th, 2008Legendary singer, songwriter named for Library of Congress award
Singer Stevie Wonder will receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The artist was named to receive the honor for his decades-old hit “You Can Feel It All Over.” He’ll be presented with the Prize next February in a ceremony at the Library’s Great Hall. “It’s an immense privilege to join such a remarkable roster of musicians and composers,” Wonder, born Steveland Morris, says. “I am touched to receive this honor and look forward to creating music for the celebration.”

This should be his fourth honor – maybe fifth, the man is a genius if I ever saw one. Stevie Wonder deserves EVERYTHING and more.

One more thing my man….WHY did you cancel all of those concerts last year? I was so geared up to go and see you in Cleveland Ohio last November! It was my 50th birthday and what other way to celebrate it! I heard that ticket sales were a factor in the cancellations…and if so Mr. Wonder you should have come and perform for all of us loyal fans any ways. We would have jammed to your tunes just he same! Please reschedule ASAP…I really want to see you perform one day!
