‘Precious’ Doe case begins in K.C.
The Kansas City man who allegedly chopped off the head of his girlfriend’s lifeless baby and buried the body in the woods is now on trial. Prosecutors say that Harrell Johnson, 29, was drugged up when he knocked Michelle Johnson’s daughter to the floor because she refused to go to bed. When the girl lay motionless for almost 10 hours, the couple did not seek medical attention, prosecutors say, adding that the duo were afraid they would go to jail on outstanding warrants if they notified authorities. The 3-year-old child, Erica Green, was nicknamed “Precious Doe” after her headless body was discovered in 2001. Her head was found several days later. It took four years before the case was cracked; in 2005, someone gave a tip to a community activist who had kept the pressure on about the tragic death of Erica. Michelle is expected to be called to testify against Harrell, whom she married a year after Erica’s death. Michelle has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Harrell’s defense attorney says that first-degree murder charges are not unjustifiable because nobody intended to kill Erica. Because Harrell withdrew his demand to have the case taken out of Kansas City, prosecutors agreed to take the death penalty out of play. The worst Harrell can be sentenced to is life without the possibility of parole.
I agree with Mary. They are both sick and dumb. How can you marry someone who killed your child?? Being high is no excuse. You can try to mistreat me, I will handle that. MY CHILDREN are off limits. I will ride or die for them!!

i think that the mother of this young girl should fell real bad an that dumb a– boyfriend should be locked up for good an the mammy of the baby should go to hell for marring tha man a year later after the child death…both of yall should burn in hell

The Death Penalty is ruled out?…are you serious?..they both should fry considering what that baby had to endure. The mom is stupid on her own, but that bastard who killed that baby should get The Chair. Life in prison is simply unacceptable. The mom also deserves to be punished because she would rather defend a man than have justice served for her deceased baby. Shame on her and definitely shame on him. They are an embarrassment to African Americans and they disgust me to the fullest extent. Sick Bastards!..I hope they have fun in Prison.
I think These people should die in jail. Giving them the dealth penalty would be the easy way. I can’t even believe that the Mother of Erica, could even marry someone like that. She can’t even call herself a mother. I think they should both be held responsible for this crime. They should get the same conviction.

I am sooooo upset. What is Aamerica coming too, how can you do such a thing to a precious angel, because you were high. You killed a child someone who didnt ask to be here in this cruel world. He needs to be put away and taken through the same pain he needs to suffer and so does the dumb as mother. I am in tears because I cant believe what I just read. They both have no heart, especially the mother how can you marrie a man who killed your child???????????
this is sad and devastating to read but i am glad that justice will be served, it is sad to see that some women feel that a man or a drug is more important than the life they created. i really wish some parents would cherich these gifts that god has given them becuz everyone cant have kids. i feel that ppl shouldnt take their children for granted but god has to judge them and no one likes baby killers in prison i hope they have someone protecting them lol

I Live in Kansas City everyday we had to look @ every child to make sure that nothing out the orinary was wrong with our kids also try to find this child,
The parent need to go to hell jail .never see day light again they are very cruel people . And the Family they live with in kansas city , need to be held responsible also. JUST EVIL

PEOPLE LIKE THESE TWO I WOULD HARDLY EVEN CONSIDER HUMAN. DOING THAT TO A CHILD, LET ALONE YOUR OWN CHILD, AND THEN HIDING IT FOR SO LONG IS JUST UTTERLY UNHUMAN. SOCIETY NEEDS TO ACCEPT THAT THERE ARE JUST PEOPLE WHO ARE MISSING THAT ESSENTIAL PIECE OF CONCIENCE MOST OF US HAVE WHICH TELLS US WHEN WE NEED TO EXERCISE CONSIDERATION BEYOND THAT OF OUR OWN WELL-BEING. ITS JUST SELFISHNESS IN THE MOST HAENUS SENSE OF THE WORD. THESE ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS TYPE OF PEOPLE IN EXISTANCE AND I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO IDENTIFY AND DISPOSE OF SUCH PERSONALITIES BEFORE THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO INFLICT WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF, WHICH MOST TIMES, IS JUST UNSPEAKABLE. ESPECIALLY IN THIS CASE. ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE US BUT THIS MOTHER DESERVES A PUNISHMENT A MILLION TIMES WORSE THAN THAT OF HER CHILD WHO NEVER EVEN HAD A CHANCE……THIS SOOOO JUST PISSES ME OFF
What the hell was he thinking, by killing this innocent young girl? What mother willn’t ask questions about this? Many children are leaving this world at very young age from crimes like this. She refuse to go to sleep that don’t give you the right to take her life. He sounding like Woman who microwave her baby. This is what pisses me off about crimes against children. We Americans aren’t fighting hard enough for our children lives because some of us don’t care, some of us are willing to fight for them, and some of us are too caught up in love. I care!
I live here in Kansas City, and this story even had the racist whites Independence, MO upset. All they kept showing was this terrible
replication of what this child looked like. It was awful, the news reporters
would look like they would tear up just talking about it. The most sickening
aspect of the story is how they left her unconscious for over 10 hours.

This is my first time hearing about this && it brought tears to my eyes. And the fakt that the mother married him after he killed the girl upsets the h.ell outta me!!! They didn’t kall the ambulance bekause they had warrants && didn’t wanna go to jail?!?! Like wtf?! I just don’t understand people these dayz…

I live in KC and I can not see how this mother could let this happen to this little girl. Iam a father of two an if anyone would ever touch my boys in the wrong way I would got to jail. I would like to thank the team move-up and Mr. A Brooks for staying on top of this case. Ladies if a man will hit you he will hit your children so please do what is right ther should never be a first time. If he love you he should NEVER PUT HIS HANDS ON YOU.
