About 100% of domestic violence start in the black and hispanic household. Especially among the poor. The reason is that majority of these families are single home parents. The kids don’t grow up with both parents under the roof. Most of the time it is a single black or hispanic mother. These families end up on goverment assistance most of time. The kids end up becoming trouble makers in making a large population for jails and prisons. Even though you people will have a program about domestic violence, the word “violence” itself will remain in the uban neighborhoods.
Shauna you ain’t never lied …now all of the sudden the world’s eyes have been open to domestic violence…they just happen to be a house hold name….so many people are caught up in the heat of the moment with fighting and the world says “oh well”, but it seems like people are using them as escape goats to boost ratings…the girl is gonna continue to do what she wants to do and so is he…. nothing new under the sun…real talk!
UMlaw what the hell? you are ignorant and somewhere in the Twilight Zone if you think that all Hispanic and Black families are without fathers and on programs… you are 100% full of BullSh*%$ and that’s some real stats for ya ignorant azz…. Look at all the violent offenders in jail and prison that are white…look at all the white single mothers who use food stamps to feed their family…as a matter of fact you probably can find dysfunction in your own house hold…just look around!….real talk
this comment is for Umlaw. Your IGNORANCE is showing. Do you think that being a single parent is the reason “black women” and “hispanic” women are abused! Please get some education. If you you really believe this, your theory does not work for Rihanna or Chris. Both grew up in a two parent household. Here is some facts for your, abusers come in all shape and colors. Abuse is about power and manipulation. Most abusers feel as if they are the victims because they are unable to manipulate the situation to their liking. Please stick to the point and not make the issue race. If you need further evidence, you may want to watch Lifetime, their stories about caucasian women being murder and abused, I haven’t seen a black or hispanic story yet!
What happened to my comment, only igorance is posted?
Oh Godddddd, what is it about today and domestic violence shows? Rihanna is NOT a victim, she caused this whole thing and Chris had EVERY RIGHT to defend himself!!!!! She and her people should be ashamed of themselves for letting Chris be crucified in the media when she is the aggressor in the incident! SMH! I hope BET’s show isn’t biased and tells the truth about what happened!!!!!
Manne…dis sum dum sh*T….It’s more important stuff going on in da world. Domestic violence is important, but its been going on for soooo long….now yall want to put rihanna and chris brown in the spot light. Stay out of they business and quit advertising them…let them take care of their own situations and quit publicizing their personal affair…THEY”RE STILL TOGETHER!!!!!
I dont support domestic violence at all but it’s really sad that after stars are in the spotlight for domestic violence everybody wants to talk about it now. This is something we should be talking about everyday because everyday more than one woman is physically, mentally or emotionally abused. Everybody now is overly interested to talk about domestic violence while before Chirs was allleged to have hit Rihanna, we weren’t paying that much attention about it.
iam a 50 year old women but when i was 24 years old i was abused just like rihanna hit in my face black eye and i went back with him because we had a child toghther but i shouldnt because he did it again not that way but he hit me again my advise to young people today is try not to go back to that person talk to some one about your abuse dont go back please it not worth going though abuse because there is help out there god bless
Both of them are guilty in my eyes! I don’t believe hit beat her for nothing!
It took these two people for someone to really take a look at this growing problem. It seems to me that everyone is jumping on the band wagon of domestic violence. This problem has been around since the caveman days and will go on until us as a race stop all the BS and live like God would want us to live.
IT take a life in some body else problems to make some people see what problemyou may have but dont see it. when your family see it you think they are just trying to buth of you to leave each other.
i am so happy that alesha renee and free spoke about their personal experiences. They are both beautiful and this shows that black women can relate in more ways then we think once we let our guard down. When i realized that identify with alesha renee soooo much, it felt so good to know im not alone. THIS WAS THE BEST EPISODE OF 106 to date! & I LOVE ALESHA RENEE
Why? Is what I want to know. Why is everybody so worried about domestic violence now that rihanna and chris is going through this if these where regular people then no one will be worried about it. I know a lot of people who has been abused. I know 10 people thats been abused and there wasn’t a segment for them. It’s a good thing that this topic is finally being put out there publically instead of the old 10 second commercials about it.
I been in a violence relationship for awhole year already it was just hard to leave ..I was young and thought I was in love but it just all went down hill..
Chris Brown should be locked up for a very long time , Negros should boycott his music , but no you people worry about cookies and comments.

OMG. I had to comment on Kirk Odems entry, one word abuser. I foolishly married two abusers and his comments are all to familiar, what makes a man think that a WOman can’t have and opinion or a say. I agree that no one man or woman has a right to put their hands on the other but words or just that words and if they get you that upset that you feel you have to hit, seek help because you are sick and have no control over your actions. When a man is beating a woman his anger is uncontrollable and most of the time he can’t recall the events that took place doing the beating, a sign of illness. Kirk you are living in a time that once was and I hope that whomever you are with or going to be with are aware of your beliefs because I would hate for them to get beat because they had a voice. Abuse is alive & kicking, lets not acknowledge it just because it happen to the rich & famous, but because it is a serious problem. UMlaw you are ignorant, whites have just as much domestic violence going on as any other race, it’s just that most of the time the victims don’t get a chance to report it because they’re dead, hmmm.
