The Philadelphia 76ers has fired Billy King as general manager. King spent 10 seasons as head of the organization that has been without a championship since 1982. Ed Stefanski takes over the role of president and general manager. The Sixers have a 5-12 record so far this season.
Baltimore’s Rolle says ref called him “boy”
A complaint that a ref called Baltimore Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle “boy” during a game is being investigated by the NFL. Rolle, who is Black, identified Black official Phil McKinnely as the official who offended him. “No. 110 called me a boy,” Rolle said after the Monday night game against New England. “I will be calling my agent in the morning and sending my complaint. I have a wife and three kids. Don’t call me a boy … on the field during a game because I said, ‘You’ve never played football before.’” McKinnely actually did play for three NFL teams in the ’70s and ’80s. Is this complaint legit?
A lot of adult white men still use the term “boy” when referring to anyone who is younger than them. Especially here in the South. Some “knowingly” and “unknowingly” that it is a term used by racist during slavery and the civil rights movement. The ref in question should definitely be dealt with accordingly. It should be brought to his attn. that the term “boy” is NOT appropriate nor is it professional… It’s the equivalence of being called the “N” word to a black man.

I think you need to pick your fights, and this is one he needs to get over and let go.
The ref that called him boy according to the story was black also. And thats probably the reason he called him that. Because he was so much older than him.
