7th-Grade teacher to students: Obama is a ‘N’-word. Angry parents in the northwest Florida community of Marianna want a middle school teacher fired after he put the “N”-word on the board to describe Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama. The Marianna Middle School teacher, Greg Howard, is now serving a 10-day suspension after writing an acronym on the dry-erase board on Sept. 26: “C.H.A.N.G.E. – Come Help A N*gg*r Get Elected.” But many parents want the 17-year teacher fired. The seventh-grade social studies teacher’s class has 17 White students, six Black students and one Asian student. Initially he was suspended for the day without pay, but that was elevated to the 10-day punishment. He must also write a letter of apology to students. “We feel like the punishment is sufficient,” Larry Moore, superintendent of the Jackson County School District, told The Detroit Free Press. “We did not feel he had to be fired.” NAACP officials say they will reserve their actions in the case until their investigation is complete. Audrey Wad, who has nieces and nephews at the school, didn’t need any more information before expressing her outrage. “To me, it’s hurtful,” she told the Free Press. “The idea that he would impose his political opinion on the children is wrong to me. That’s where he crossed the line.”
If u ask me I think the this whole country runs itself. Two many chiefs and not enough indians. What is the world coming to. Why shouldn’t he be fired, if it had of been a black person they would have been fired on the spot. People should think, this country is screwed up with Bush running it, who ever comes in has got to fix what he already messed up. I think people are just scared that a black man running the country can do a much better job then the white people do. BLACK PEOPLE DON’T WORRY, THEY DON’T HAVE TO FIRE HIM, CAUSE WHEN OBAMA WINS. THAT WILL BE ALL THE PENALTY HE NEEDS. GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!
Yes, he should be fired. There is no reason for this type of behavior our
children has enough to deal with.Due to the way racism is demonstrated
toward us. Suspicion with no pay is not good enough he need to be FIRED.
I think that, that was racist and he should be dealt with for that. A 10- day punishment and an apology is not enough. When you’re a teacher, there is a creed that you must follow: You will not be descriminative of race, sex, religion, or any other aspect of the human nature that can and will be judged against you. And if you don’t follow that creed, you get fired, point blank and simple. That racist pig needs to be fired!

People are carzy. Everyone is hating the fact that Obama may be elected president. The fact is McCain is about 70 years old, he going to die off. Also, he’s stupid. In the first debate, when he was asked a question, he kept saying he was going to get back to the question snd say what Obama did or didn’t do. He didn’t sound intelligent at all. I wish Obama gets elected. What most people don’t kno is McCain are going to give state taxes to the rich. Why do they need more money? The’re already rich. Duhhhh. The last thing I’m going to say is people do your reseaceh, stay updated with the news(including debates), and vote. Make a wise choice.
This is an outrage! What was he thinking? A 17 year veteran of the education system should not go unpunished. He is a disgrace to all teachers in the United States of America. The school board must act swiftly and thoroughly into this matter.
I regret that I left Northern California to live in Florida. I keep forgetting that this is still the dirty south. The powers that be; kindly forget that they don’t have to be held accountable for their actions against people who are not white in this society.

This is terrible, this is American, people, come ON,to be a part of something so wonderful, THIS IS HISTORY, DON’T MAKE IT UGLY. For a teacher who we put our trust in to care for our children who are the future of tomorrow this IS terrible. Come on USA be real, these children are the adults of tomorrow, the future. When will we live in this Country as just people, Black, White, Mexicans, etc…this is pittiful remember when we get to heaven we will be in heaven as God’s children. We teach our kids about consequenses, I think he should loose his job, we trusted him to teach all views to those kids not just his. We are the people of the United I said, UNITED States of American with all kinds of freedoms, he has NO right to do what he did. Why do we have 2 sets of rules one for Blacks and minorities, then another for whites, that just ain’t right we all live here, ONE SET OF RULES AND WE SHOULD ALL LIVE WITH IT. As a child of the civil rights movement. I am deepy sadden . We must unite and have this teacher fired immediately…..I will not settle for less. I will fowarding this e-mail to every local news paper and television station…..

Well, at least people now see how important it is to keep teachers fair and balanced and not like the news media, especially MSNBC.
Now if they can expand this type of discipline to teachers who wore Obama buttons and to colleges, where Liberal indoctrination is rampant we may have something good going.
