That man is a teacher he should know what the word “N*gg*r means. (I would expect something different) I am an 8th grader at james weldon johnson and in that school the teachers and faculty don’t tolerate such a thing. What kind of example is he setting for us? he should be helping that word come to pass not misusing and abusing it.

You stated that you would immedately withdraw your children from this school; and as a parent I could, for a minute consider such action but I WOULD NOT withdraw my kids from that school because that teacher made such an ignorant and hateful remark, and I will tell you why I wouldn’t do it: Because that is EXACTLY what the administrators there would want the black parents to do – take the black children out of that particular school and in their minds the “problem” is resolved; this is what they would expect the parents to do – be subservient. This is 2008 – not 1838..the thing I find more distressing is the fact that none of the parents seem to raising all sorts of he// – in California this would not WORK. He would be fired and in much trouble legally..

This is what we teach kids in school, media and in government. Act with Ignorance and racism and you can get away with everything. Cops kill black men all the time with no consequence, white kids act and speak in racially motivated ways and yet nothing gets done. Now when this teacher comes back to class he gets one more chance, if not more, to make another innappropriate comment and single out another or the same race. Where are these people in power getting their logic from.

Racism is alive and well in the United States of America -and yes, he should definitely be ‘FIRED NOW” -not when the NAACP completes their investigation. What is there to investigate anyway? Greg Howard should be fired from ANY public job, because he is a racist. He should NEVER be teaching school. This racist comment he made was not only for Obama it was disrespectful to all blacks not only the students in his class, but the entire school district. How can students be graded fairly, How can you have a Parent Teacher Meeting. Come on this is 2008 when are people going to learn to respect and judge a person of any race for who they are, the accomplishments they have made, and changes they are trying to make instead of looking at skin color, and closing your mind. Wake up America practice what you preach. YOU CAN BECOME ANY THING YOU WANT IF YOU WORK HARD FOR IT. America’s dreams are vanishing. No jobs, No home owners, No savings, No retirement funds that you have worked so hard to get you through your senior yrs., And Americans are looking at color first, we are in BIG trouble now, and you want to elect a 72yr old that has voted to put us in this CRISIS. I’m not surprised about the teacher but, when I recieved the e-mail about the acronymn C.H.A.N.G.E. and it was from my people….that hurt more that the cracka saying. He’s ignorant and he is allow to teach in the school system. Teach your children at home the truth and they will not be effected by some silly man who can’t control his feelings because a Black man is capable of winning this election and making history. He is typical of most white people who aren’t very susceptible to change. When the steel mills started closing in the late 70s and early 80’s, white people started committing suicide. When they are faced with the reality of “not having their way” they lose it. Just wait and see. There is more where that came from. Trust me. Stay tuned.

Altough I find the actions of this teacher to be very ignorant, and yes, he should perhaps lose his job, the real shame is the vinoum and hatred that is being spewed on this blog. The sounds of racism that is coming from our own people saddens me. We use this word as if it were part of our everyday vocab, however it makes me cringe regardless of the context or who the ignorant person is that is using it. I challenge all of us to consider ourselves just as guilty as this man. Search yourselves and you will realize that we are just as prejudice as the rest.

I think that Obama sould win because he is doing alot of thiings for Black people in our State so if u don’t like Obama u can kiss Obama Black Rocks

You acquire knowledge by being taught, but common sence is received by the Almighty God. The teacher needs prayer because he’s not as intelligent as one may think he is. He should be made to write and apology to the “students” of his actions and post it on the website and in the school news letter In conjunction with his present punishment.

We as African Americans, talk far too much! ! ! The Shouting and Crying and Marching Days should be over forever!!!! We have the power too tell this Principal of this school exactly what he is going to do with this individual ! ! !
If every African American in and around this community show up every day or week when they can. Until this teacher either quits or is fired !!! ABSOLUTELY NO VIOLENCE!!! Just numbers alone will get us the respect
we deserve!! Other Americans already know we can get violent!!!!!!!!!
