I took offense when one of the newsmen started a financial news bit with”When White America gets a cold, Black America gets the flu.” Well, now what? And the phrase when the Man gets you down? Do you really want to use that now?
I love this post and the comparisons you have made are absolutly true.

A Minnesota mother is one of thousands of people who may be ripped from their families and deported to an African country racked by poverty and unemployment. There are 3,600 Liberians in the United States, many of whom came to the state under ‘temporary protection status,’ in order to escape from Liberia’s civil war—which lasted 16 years, killed 250,000 people, and displaced twice that amount. Aba Hamilton Dolo, who lives in *%@* Rapids, is one who may be torn from her husband and two children in six weeks. She and her husband Ammanuel, their son Phil, and daughter Bijoux came to Minnesota as refugees sponsored by Lutheran Social Services. While her family members received permanent residency, Dolo—along with at least a 1,000 other Liberians in the state—only received temporary protection, meaning she would have to return to the country once the war ended. “I don’t sleep at night. When I drive I have anxiety and I’m shaking and at times at work. I find myself crying,” Dolo told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. Her status—which lies between political asylum and refugee status—will force Dolo to return to Libera on March 31. “Do I uproot my family and go to instability, no jobs, no home? Or do I make a choice and leave my kids behind and leave them with no mother,” Dolor explained. Two weeks ago, Dolo graduated from St. Mary’s with a master’s degree in health care and human services. “We are not a liability to the government, but rather an asset—we work, we pay taxes,” she said. Under temporary protection status, Liberians have never qualified for government assistance. The Liberian Association of Minnesota is working with lawmakers and the White House for an extension or permanent residency, which President Barack Obama would have to make an executive order. A call to White House officials has been left unreturned.
To Cindy Lacy,
You need to get in touch with the NAACP and have someone take a look at this case.
it is about full time we stop this racial profiling, what m…f… century are we living in. it is 2009 meaning it is about time we blame people for their action and not for tthe color of their skin. HOW MUCH HAVE WE EVOLVED? Still stuck in the rut but black people we need to realize that their will always be barrier and that can never be overcome. we need to take a look into our history and realize tha we are strong, strong people not only physically but mentally , emotionaly and in evey way possible. Their will always be a power struggle it is human nature to feel like one is better than the other but we all have our faults.I am not saying it is ok but we need to overcome, just like marcus, like martin, like rosa , like nanny and all those people who have fought for our freedoom. At least nopw we hane a choice we are not enslave and we should not allow mental slavery cause that is even worse. RISE MY PEOPLE ANSD STAY STRONG!!!!!!
