Agent Says No One’s Interested In Signing Barry Bonds

July 11th, 2008

It’s not easy being king: Homerun leader can’t find a professional home.
Embattled slugger Barry Bonds may have enjoyed the final season of his career when he shattered Hank Aaron’s career home run record last summer: His agent says prospects for Bonds getting a new contract look bleak. Jeff Borris, who negotiated a $19.2 million salary for Bonds’ 2007 season in San Francisco, hasn’t been able to work the magic again. “No club has offered even the minimum salary,” Borris says. Bonds broke Aaron’s record amid widespread speculation that he hit many homers fueled by performance-enhancing drugs. Borris says Bonds can be ready to play for a new team within 10 days, but he faces indictments on perjury and obstruction of justice charges connected with court testimony he gave about past steroid use. Mr Bonds has all the money he needs , he should just count his blessings and fade away. But that is hard to do once you are hooked on fame and ego, and have pending charges for lying to the court.

Lynn you are so right just take the money you have be happy and fade away and injoy your life with your family. We are tired of seeing and hearing about the lies on TV. Like we told OJ just sit down some where.

It’s time to move on Barry…. Teams are now dealing with trying to win with the young players they have who don’t need distractions that Bonds would bring and honestly thats all Bonds brings. Bonds may be ready within 10 days, but how many days would he play before having to sit? Most teams more than likely see him as a headache they’d rather not have and I can’t blame them.

D,were you calling clemens a distraction when he was winning those cy youngs on HGH???get off the soapbox before you break a leg.

I agree with rose whole-heartedly. Hank Aaron is a hero and it is a shame the his record was broken the way it was. I hope that Bonds is found guilty of using steroids while hitting some of his home runs, so that Hank Aaron is re-instated as the official Home Run King in the records book. Until that comes to pass, L and Pennie are correct…go away!
